It is impossible (yes impossible) for Joymax to know or detect you are using a pk2 edited file.
Everyone who plays silkroad has a different pk2 checksum, which means no two media.pk2 out there is exactly the same. They are all different sizes depending on the installation time, build date, client updates, etc. If you don't think so, go install silkroad on another computer and the two file size won't be the same. There is definitely no way Joymax will ever know that you pk2 edit. So people who claim that they got banned for PK2 editing are liars or they did some good photoshopping.
/end rant and going to bed

botsmall? who wants to pay
all everyone does is go to projecthax.com
and download the tbot hack
how do i know its working?
I have friends who bot, duh
there is no risk of being banned
i can prove this to you
with this example
GayMax: we are banning bots,blah blah blah $ $ $ $ $blah blah blah
two Accounts
***** lv 70 botted. buys a gold ticket every month
***** lv 70 botted. never paid for silk never gotten silk or anything
second lv 70 gets banned
so basically its simple
BOT+SILK=WHAT BAN
all everyone does is go to projecthax.com

I say, this is only for the Client files. I don't think it has anything to do with .pk2 files.
pk2 editing does not effect other players in-game.
Prove me wrong if you must but I'm sticking with,
".pk2 editing will not be banned, only edited client files will."
If you read, it only talks about the client file. nothing about pk2...

.pk2 files are part of the client. The SRO client is much more than just sro_client.exe or silkroad.exe. When you download the silkroad client, you download the ENTIRE set of executables, config files, and everything else. So anything that comes as part of that download is part of the client.
Missing the good times in SRO...
SRO:
1x, STR Blader (Thebes)
54, STR blader (Venice)
0x, INT wizard (Venice)
19, INT spear (Venice)
34, STR rogue/bard (Venus)
0x, STR blader (Venus)
8x, INT bard/cleric (Gaia)

something don't make sense about bots. Most bot's you have to pay for right? So why would someone pay money to play a F2P game? It's F2p for a reason. And most bot's even use Item mall to get PT and Monkey and stuff like that. Waste of money?
I mean you have to be pretty smart to program a bot most likely, but having to pay for a F2P game? Kinda makes you retarded.

I had a modified characterdata.txt and it kept on disconnecting me when I tried to log on (before image verification)...changed it back and it started working again (so maybe they check that? O_o) but yea it would take a while for them to check a 600MB file like data.pk2

so for those of you who have never used a bot client or pk2 client
they are different its not like they login like everyone else
they run a client that stops game guard
so pretty much bots are gone
and silkroad is going to be empty
with lots less sosun 8th degree stuff
Funny how JM did this same shit back in November, yet not even a week ago you were b****ing and moaning about bot this bot that. They have to do more to get rid of bots. And the botters never had to stop game guard, there wasn't a game guard running.

The biggest problem is that bots are not getting banned.
As soon as their bots went down they download a normal client and play normally with their lvl 80 char, calling legits of noobs, until the bot update is out.
But even here the bot programmers seem to have some problems, almost 1 week after the patch, servers are still populated, those who claimed that bots were out 5 hours after the new patch were just liars.
JM did a hell of a job on the new patch, making it really difficult to break through, i tried myself since i'm a programmer and i specialize in making anti-hacking programs for games created by Xgen, the system is really difficult to break through.
So don't expect to see the bots back and the servers crowded 24/7 before at least mid-August.

That made me giggle.
Dont get me wrong, Joymax is a nice company and all, but they have never once shown that they can pull of a system to keep the bots out. Already I'm seeing bots slowly leaking onto Troy, just a matter of time before the servers are crowded again.

bots shall rule
jm MAY HAVE PREVENTED BOTTING FOR A LITTLE WHILE BUT WE BOTTERS ARE A STRONG FOLK. WE SHALL BE BACK AND WITH A VENGENCE.

Where is the SRF GM that usually bans posters who continue to talk about and promote botting....I can think of about 4 in this thread ..... maybe JM got to em.....LOL.....just kidding
I am just surprised I haven't seen a post saying "further discussion or promotion of botting or bot/hack programs will lead to temporary forum ban" or "this thread will be locked due to bot discussion"......
