What i meant was that the reson i had to install it was because i got a new computer and that i am not a botter but it was my computer.

I'll help your cause, because I'm getting the same error here after I reinstalled it. Looks like this:

Image

And, I'm going to have to sigh here, and say - no, I reinstalled it because I was using Cruor's Media.PK2 file, and I never backed it up. Wanted to play it safe, just in case JM started to ban people for PK2-editing.
Now I can't get on SRO. Reinstalled it twice, and I tried to manually patch it, but it doesn't let me patch it because it says I already have the latest version.
And no, it doesn't have anything to do with my Firewall.

Any ideas, guys?

I was just joking man. If the patch doesn't work then I dunno. Maybe if there was a way of getting 1.100, but I dunno. :(

If you want to play sro at all after the 24th, you're going to have to dl the euro client.

You need to get the client to update. That's the problem.

Start windows in safe mode with networking. Then run SRO and it should update. PM me if you need the firewall router settings.
With these two, it worked out for me.

EDIT: for those needing router/firewall ports:

Hope that helps.

Btw, I don't think the hosts stuff works anymore. I tried it in the past and it did not work.

Hmm ever thought about the fact that let's just say 90% (to be modest) of the silkroad "players" need to reinstall and therefore update their client.

There is no way the joymax server can supply that much bandwidth. So just be patient, and try updating later today or tomorrow :)

i had this error, i fixed it by:

delete everything you havent entered into your hosts file purposefully, it should usually be the the default.

its found at:

c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc

*replace c:\ with the drive where your windows is installed.

and its called hosts, open it with notepad, mine (with silkroad working) looks like this:

# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

127.0.0.1 localhost

do that, restart pc, and voila, silkroad should work.
Started playing again, on CSRO now though, not ISRO (:

Just to clarify, before I do anything, please. :) Don't want to do something wrong, and my entire computer crashes, lol.

I got to the Hosts file, and opened it up under Notepad. See the exact same thing as in your quote.

Now, do I just delete the entire file? Or delete the contents of the file, and then save it?
Thanks, Poochu.

Heres a fix if the hosts file thing doesn't work. Just make sure your Windows firewall has Sro_Client and Silkroad Online set to exception. You can get to it from the control panel.

Worked for me. O_O
