IP bans on silkroadonline forums???

The forums will be strictly moderated, and any attempts to impersonate an employee of Joymax will carry the most severe punishment possible, including account and IP bans.

Did anyone see that?

Such a drastic measure, are they gonna IP ban bots too?
Not everyone knows how to change IP address...shhh don tell anyone how.

If you use cable, you most likely retrieve an IP address by DHCP from your service provider. DSL uses PPPoE and also gives you a new IP address everytime you authenticate.

Ip baning is useless and old way.
It will punish ppl who never got banned if they get someones banned ip from the isp.

dsl/adsl/.. most connection is dynamic ip that changes at every connection.

They should do MAC address bans. Not very many ways around that one.
