New Skill of Theiving of 1 Star. [GUIDE]

I no doubt believe this topic may have already been posted.But I could not find it so I shall post it anyways!

Not much details very easy. Just walk around untill you find a trader your lvl or below. Now this is the eay part. Just Alt-Click on there transport, attack there transport untill it is low on health. Stop there, your name will be in purple and the penalty shall be gone soon. Then keep there transport health low untill a thief pops up and attacks it, hopefully the damage you did will make the thief kill it quickly, killing it of course.

Now for the fun slaughter part :twisted:

Put on your thief suit and what not, and since they have no star protection due to there transport is dead. Attack them! It'll be a fun fight if it's near your lvl, but if you have a good decent potions and you attacked first with a big blow. You'll defeat them most likely in the end. Chances are you wasted enough time killing the trader. Grab the goods quickly and run to your safe spot, and don't look back! Just go. Hide in that area untill the long for Bandit Scroll transport you and boom! You got out money in a one star trade, without the hassle of getting the goods in your theiving transport. And setting a barracade up for other traders.

Happy Theving, fellow brethen. And remember thieveing can be honorable. But a Thief is not suspected to be.

Lol that is such a noob tatic. a thief tried that to me a month ago. result? he was murderer, someone killed him on the gate.

COUNTER MEASURE: let him attack it. Heal your horse/camel when possible. Eventually he'll make a mistake and become murderer. Murderer>30K LOL. Watch the slaughter of that stupid noob thief as he phail in life.

EDIT: Oh and summon a horse when yours die to pick it up. DW if he kills u, it's only like 0.1%, it pretty much defeats the purpose of 1 star popping -_-. You would pay 30k for them to be murderer won't u?

Not very stupid if you know how to do it right, I am only lvl 25 and I've gained atleast 2-3 million gold in trying. If the trades are right of course.

Hey may be "noob" method. But atleast it works.

EDIT: Doubt u made 2-3 million doing that. if so, the time could have been better spent elsewhere (training, selling drops, etc)
EDIT2: if this is a "guide" then put [GUIDE] tag infront of ur post. Hope it catches the attention of a mod

lol i also have done this. it does work very often, i usually waited for the thief to spawn first then attack and haul ass away and hope he dies, i didnt stick around to let him start hitting me. its best if its lightning bow as it takes him time to run to get him, usually resulting in the port dieing, i never got murdered because i didnt stick around, just got it to 10% or less and ran.

i dunno if this is a known tactic called popping but:
find a merchant alot lower than you. follow him on your horse as a theif. wait for YOUR theif to come, if it attacks there caravan the stuff is yours, if its your caravan its attacking get off your transport and kill it, its your level.

i know this can work because it happened to me yesterday

find a merchant alot lower than you. follow him on your horse as a theif. wait for YOUR theif to come, if it attacks there caravan the stuff is yours, if its your caravan its attacking get off your transport and kill it, its your level.

i know this can work because it happened to me yesterday

Thats the oldest tactic its called 1* popping... It will be done away with when the new euro update comes out as, thieves will from there on spawn hunter npc not thieves.

Hmm thats one of serveral ways and I find that one the hardest lol. Im a fellow merchanter but I have survived serval of times when a theif alt clicks me. I never survive it there npc theif kills my transport, kills it in 1 shot so yeah

I'm sorry but in my opinion i find that noobish, selfish and a bit stupid

Noobish because there are dozens of ways someone could get around this or that this will even turn out to be against you.

Selfish because not only poor 1 star traders will have to put up with the poppers but they will also have to endure the pkers

(i personally had lots of ppl trying to pk on my horse/camel while 1* trading i could just simply get off and kill them myself or even call a friend of mine nearby to come get them...i hardly ever trade alone..but i usually dont give them any attention cause when they see me healing my trans back up fast they go away)

A bit stupid because not only will you risk doing numerous mistakes but you might also risk loosing something if a high level was around and saw you pking...you will be careful?..lets say you did...its not that fast to get rid off its slow enough for a high level to come around and nuke you or whatever..(believe me...i've been there

)

Anyways its always nice to see someone always coming with good new ideas...i mean honestly i never understood why ppl hit me while i was trading i was like...wtf? O.o..noobs..*heals*...-.-.. (i mean i got it sometimes that they were doing that to bring my health down but i would just heal myself back up lol)

One thing i'm sure about is that it would be fun lol.

I love when people say this - ever heard of splash damage?
They could still use their light theif to kill you or your trans - granted it'll be harder, but it'll work.

Lol I remember a while back when a thief was trying to pop me, luckily I was at the ferries and just kept teleporting back and forth, after like 20 mins, he started cussing about my mom in broken english, then he said something along the lines of "dumb noob stop moving" and went away. So a hint, if you're near a ferry, NOT ALL HOPE IS LOST!

Point being they will NOT spawn thiefs! The thief will spawn Hunters, Hunters will NOT attack a trader, and from what i hear, splash damage is also gone away with, I may be wrong, but, still... All thiefs are noobs, I pwn higher level thiefs all the time,in the cat and mouse game, I did that ferry back and forth also about 5-6 times and one time i seen a trader with hunter escort and the thief and his buddy who were after me, got nailed, ROFL.

Best thing you can do in trading is,

1.) keep many health on hand and potions for animal and yourself.
2.) keep moving, whatever, DO NOT STOP!!! So many traders do that when thiefs come around, DO NOT STOP KEEP GOING!!! or You will prolly die and loose everything.
3.) Do not use grass walk. That way you will not get to far ahead of your trans that he stops and takes massive damage.

Thiefs on the update are gonna be pwnd all the time, Long live the Merchant, long live the Hunter, Thief?? Pfffff

OMG soooo true I spend 1/2 my gaming time hunting and im only lvl 38 sure I get my a$$ pooned by hi levels but I get to wear the coolest looking set in the game

And when ever I get attacked by a PLayer Thief or see one within 10 levels of me I go for it... and what really annoys me is the stu pid trader standing there waiting for me.. GRRR Run man RUN.. or even worse when a 1* popping lvl 70+ is after us I generally use combo arrow and Ice Imbue on his horse from a distance freezing it allowing my trader to get some distance, but then the HE stops and stares at me while i run around in circles trying to get away from death.... Listen Traders if you really want to help me Pay for all the damn pots I use saving your a$$ dont just stand there !

yeah its dumb, popping is easyer,faster,not a much of a risk. better in everyway but if u wanna do it the dumb way well then u will regret it

I still find it completly useful, even the Europe update won't fix it. You can still do it, just wait for there thief to pop up, so when there dead it's like. "Thanks fellow thief"

The best method is actually get a friend to merchant for you. He should fill a camel with good, so the trade is 5 stars. Then exit from town (I recommand Chang'on) and hide somewhere. You then put on your hunter suit, and farm the spawning thiefs for a while. When you get tired of it, tell your friend to disband the camel. At the end, bring your friend 's goods back to theif town.
