Cleric Question

Ok so the cleric can wield diffirent wepions I assume.

1.Shield, One handed sword.
2.Warlock Rod/Shield.
3.Cleric Rod/Shield
4.Warloc Rod
5.Cleric Rod

Thos are the 5 diffirent combos I am seeing I know U can use things like the bard's wepion but I want just cleric stuff no mix. Whats the diffirence with a shield and with out and the point of the sword and the rods.
Tell me all advantages and dissadvantages you can thanks.

you are only a cleric when you have the cleric rod equipped.

if you don't have the cleric rod equipped, then you CANT use any of the cleric skills.

and always equip a shield with the cleric rod, its stupid if you dont.
thats like running around with only a sword or blade in chinese

Dose the shield restrict me from using the cleric skills?

you cant use the sword to use cleric skills.

IT HAS TO BE A CLERIC ROD.
