Best Aspects of SRO vs other games
So, reality sets in for me. I really hate SRO, yet it's one of my favorite games. No matter how often I quit...I always come back.
I hate SRO not becuase of bots, but becuase of my more realistic problem...I can't log in, nor can I suggest others to try this game since...they can't log in. I don't particularly care about gold bots since Joymax sells gold in cSRO (supposedly) and could do the same in SRO and destory the market. Furthermore, gold buying is needed since equipement decides the success of a build (not skill for the most part).
However, I keep coming back becuase the game designers did many things that I love. For one, I love that I can choose whatever build I want. There are no classes defined (for Chinese characters at least). I chose to be a blader/fire/light/force char, but once I hit 60, decided to change it to blader/bow/ice/fire/light (I know it's weak, but it's fun...and I'm also not exactly moving past 65...). In all other games I've played, I'm stuck in whatever class I choose: If I'm a mage/nuker, that's all I can ever be, always dependent on others to tank for me, or if I'm a healer/buffer, that's all I'll ever be, dependent on others to kill for me. I hated WoW just becuase...it seemed stupid to me. I played it for a month, had a lvl 60 healer....dependent on others to grind for me (though few of my friends play at 3am...which is when I play). I love that I can return to old monsters and see super high numbers in terms of damage (in RYL, I was lvl 1, and it took about a minute to take down a lvl 1 mob. I returned again at lvl 12 [after I had nukes] and decided to see my damage....it took about 30 seconds to take down the mob....).
I guess the who "choose whatever build you want" system is what I treasure most. That's why I guess I would also like games like Aescharon's Call which has a similar system.
The only thing that I think needs to be changed is the pvp/murderer system. I should be able to kill another person grinding in my area without worrying about losing 10% exp.
Meh, random rant. =)
What do you guys think is/are the best aspect(s) of SRO?

Of all the rants I've read on this forum yours is probably the best. I also hate SRO for being so rough around the edges. Like getting stuck in the weird places and lag. But I left SRO to play WoW and came back to SRO. I hate GW (wannab WoW players (no seriously)) and EQ is just not fun for me. SRO is the only game I have found fun to play and make videos out of.

well people bitch about this game so much they kinda make themselves think its shitty.
once you hit 64+ its fun
68+ its really fun
72+ extremely fun
yes, joymax is milking us for money by putting premium tickets but, the game is free. Dont play if you hate it so much.
On a better note, joymax put in SP tickets, helps level 80s save 50 silk, also helps lower levels farm better. Also the jobbing and cape fighting is always fun unless you have some asshole running his mouth.
I played wow for about 5 months, have 1 70 and 1 60. And trust me, WoW might be a little more developed with their economy and system, but Silkroad is just so much better.
just stop being so pessimistic and the game will be alot more fun

the job system is pretty primitive as of now. after the job update, then it'll be awesome

I disagree. I personally enjoy being a trader for one run, then helping a lower level as a hunter in a second run. I alwasy have a thief suit and bandit den return scroll and a horse on me incase i see loot lying around. I enjoy all jobs and I don't know which I should chose.

I love being a thief
I like being able to choose your own build, not just one class and thats it
Uniques are cool, really satisfying when you kill one.
theres alot more, but those are some main points.
I always die...the only job that I've ever done successfully in the last 4 months is trade (lvl 3 trader). As a thief, high level hunter kills me, and same for if I'm a hunter...
I've seen one unique in my entire SRO career of more than a year. (TG back when I was lvl 28 helping a friend with white tigers) And I died...b/c I forgot pills...T_T.
I liked the first time that LY spawned and everyone struggled...like the entire server was trying to kill him. That was cool (though I never saw it).

The fact that there is 1 race, and u have the ability to customize that race the way you want, via stats, skills, equipment. I also love the fact that grinding is solo. Theres nothing worse than having to sit there in a game waiting for 3 hours to find a party. The grinding in SRO can be very fun at times, not so much farming, but when u are fighting on agro red mobs as a pure intl, its nerve wracking >.<
The jobbing system also. I love the triangular conflict. When i am trading, i love the idea that there could be a thief around any corner, ready to pop me at an instant. Also if i am doing a multi star with union i love seeing all these 7x hunters protecting me, like i am the center of the universe.
The hunting system i dont like, hunters dont get enough benefits.
Same with thieves. For all the risk they put in they make barley any money. Though i guess they do have the most fun.
I dont like the unique system. Each unique should have a lvl cap. It was annoying sitting for a few hours camping TG, then have some lvl 80 come along and steal the kill form me, whilst i just wasted 3 hours.
The pvp system i like. Both 1v1 pvp and group pvp is good. I dont like the murder system though. I dont really have any ideas to change it, but i really hate it when im farming, some high lvl throw away char will come up and kill me, just for cheap thrills.
Thats about it for my rant.

yea omg constantinople to jangan, OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG thats far away.
took me like 20 min just to ride a horse from constantinople to sarakram or whatever, and right as i got to the gate a killer ostrich killed me.
i did it all over again, couldnt even imagine over an hour on horseback to run from cons to jangan, trading is really gonna be a time consuming thing now.
