Removing Image Verification

Its obvious that the image verification didn't stop bots, so mayb its time to remove it? So we can just click connect after we keyed in password n log in.
I am a slow typer... =_____=

and, i hope JM can start recruiting volunteers to battle the player Bot problem.

As for Gold bot, i don't think theres really a way to stop them... they r roaches... they never go away... they breed n breed and breed, eventually SRO will b a game where bots play with bots... KS KS KS.... Stable, Potion Merchant etc etc~~ n it goes on.....

The put the image verification in to make logging in harder and more frustrating = you get pissed and sick of not lgging in = buy a premium~

Because ffxi, WoW, EVE, EQ, SWG, screw-this-list-it-would-go-on-forever don't have bots?

The prompt is just an annoyance. It doesn't stop bots at all.

P2P would be likewise- it might get rid of some botting players, but there would still be plenty of people still botting.

this is basically the problem with trying to stop bots with anything.

All you can do is be very vigilant, and hope either you see them, or someone reports them. Of course most MMOs don't care enough to have a time that focuses on handling cheaters and nothing else. Actually, I don't think any do.

I think mostly it stopped clientless bots but that was soon over with. When it first came out you could login nearly 24/7. But doesnt do much for babysitters, like the ones at the den :banghead:

The image verrification is not meant for the bots. If it was for that reason Ksro would not have it. It is meant for the brute force program.

If the people over at Joymax were competent at game making, they would create a system in which bots cannot even connect. However, as I have been saying time and again, Joymax profits from the abundant gold bots, so they will always be with us.

The only way to fix the game is for the GMs to become active, IP ban/block bots, try to find/setup anti-hacksoftware which is "bot-proof" and update it once a while when hackers/botters crack it.

But the thing is, the most p2p games have GMs who care about the game and act against hackers/botters.

p2p wouldn't fix anything, its their service they need to fix, ppl pay for item mall stuff already and they don't care, they still pay and buy their stuff, what exactly would happen if it went p2p? They will still say the same stuff, "we are continuously doing our best", and ya know most ppl buying silk are bots anyway, why would they stop they already have fully farmed characters full sosun and shit, they already got what they wanted by cheating and nothings gonna be done about it, if it goes p2p its not like they will be banning them then.

It may get rid of some bots, but it will get rid of a lot of actual players too, most likely me for one.

Besides they probably make more money as it is.. maybe $20-25 a month for the average silk buyer, meanwhile many others are paying well over that and not just monthly, if they made it p2p then everyone spending more then that a month spends less now, and everyone not spending that a much probably wont start.

Just look at what they have done, does anyone here really wanna pay monthly for a game where they have totally screwed it up for you(if you don't bot), like the image verification, it doesn't do shit but piss you off and they know it but do they fix/get rid of it? Nope. And the premium ticket, they have pretty much made a f2p game "pay to logon", if you don't have one then your gonna get pretty pissed off trying to login, but thats not all to make it harder for you if you don't have one, they auto dc you after 1 try... Try logging in, cannot connect, then you dc from the server which you can't even connect to >.>.

Theres lots of other reasons, but I think my favorite is "if you get hacked its your own fault".

I <3 sro but joymax's service for isro sux, and I doubt making it p2p will really change that.
