Problem with SilkRoad Europe Client!

Post by Elaynor »

It finished downloading from utorrent and i double-clicked on another icon above it with the same title and it said 'please wait...' before a pop-up came telling me that i should keep this version so its faster when the client comes out (somehting like that) and i pressed ok, but then nothing happened. i tried it several times and stilll nothing. :banghead:

Is the game now installed into SR? Do i just press my SilkRoad button and press start normally and the game will work? or am i supposed to search for something else in my computer?maybe a specialy name? :? :?

Please somebody help me. :(

Good god man, "UBANTU"?

I never understood why people have so much trouble saying "Ubuntu". They always have to butcher it with random letters it seems like.

Anyway, if you do want to run Ubuntu, I highly recommend it, but chances are you don't want to have to switch your entire OS and cajole WINE into running SRO (which is fairly painless, though) just because of this one problem.

I highly dislike the way that JM distributes SRO- you have to use IE to get to the website, then you have to download an exe to install a torrent client, then you have to download the torrent itself. I've barely got any web design experience, and I could make the process much less painful (Standard HTML website, no ActiveX and crap, link to a download page, and from the download, you download the .torrent, not a damn client), it seems like their design is for ease of use, but it honestly just seems to complicate matters IMO.

Anyway, the best way to get SRO on Linux is just to download it somewhere else, and that will probably be the most effective method in Vista too. You should be able to find it fairly painlessly on google.
