S/S or Spear for 1:5 int Hybrid (85% mag b)

hi guys... im having a dilemma here about going s/s or spear. Im currently on spear and planning to delevel it for a change into s/s. This is because in my opinion, s/s still deal pretty decent dmg with its KD and stab with an extra defence. Spear on the other hand deals good dmg but fear it would not tank dmg as much. So if u cant tank, u'll die and there is no point of having strong att if ur lying on the ground easily. And yes i know sword will be harder to kill and its also harder to kill ur enemy. Against most build it will be a draw/pot battle rather den a win/lose.

Nows comes the mana shield. It helps alot whether im in a s/s or spear build. But which would benefit it most? im going to take only lv 60 of ice which will give me only 40% reduce using mana shield. Can i possibly tank dmg with spear using the mana shield? or is it wiser of being a much better tanker in s/s?

All right. Thats about the defence. Another prob is the att on lv 80 skills. As i know sword would not have new books and will only have improved book 3 of KD and stab. Will it be sufficient and strong enough? I didn't see any info on the stab book 4 for lv80 skill dou. Spear on the other hand have a new book of soul spear and an improved ghost spear and sss. However, soul spear book 4 will only gives a 15% stun probability. Will it be good compared to the s/s book 3 KD?

Sorry for the loads of question. I just wished to clear this things up. I'm lv 80 now and not decided which to go and now currently farming for the sp. Btw, im on garments and currently pimp'in it . I'm not sure, but I reckon that spears would do more damage when you hit physical attack (with the strength you have) and with mana shield, spears can still "tank" a bit more

I had same doubts couple of days back.. while talking to Guildies and Union members (S/S & Spear users)... and considering the new skills for 90, i strongly feel SPEAR would be the best option for the reason, more damage when compared to S/S ..... more over with MANA coming out ... u shuld b able to TANK... but all tat matters te most is a PIMPED PROTECTOR / GARMENT .......

Fianlly ended up develvin my BICH mastery to 0.

Any1 considered about the ss book 4 which only gives 15% stun? S/s will gonna KD u most of the time and its irritating. Mana shield only last 2min with 1min cd. Will ss + gs + nuke combo better den kd + stab + nuke? i heard ppl say kd + stab give a pretty good dmg as well. The reason i think of getting s/s is because the dmg from glavies... i fear kd + stab could'nt kill them due to their amount of hp. On the other hand, myself is still unsure about the dmg from spear to glavies.

More opinion pls guys. Thanks a lot

my personal preference is spear ... for the greater dmg and 2000+ more hp at 80 with new skills.

s/s receiving 2 blows without getting block in and not getting in a KD, is pretty much spent. the thing that keep s/s alive imo is not exactly the shield, but the 2x50% chance KD.

main thing abt pvp is how you play your build. if you only stand and fight, a pure str build like a glaiver or blader will be easier for u to handle.

i appreciate ur thoughts on this. I do think KD is the 1 which saves a s/s lives due to the times it provides them to pot the health back. The good advantage with s/s imo is the castle shield and the ability to withstand dmg whenever lags occur where u cant pot as quick as usual. Have any1 try the dmg between spear combo and Kd combo? which is higher and better to use? i think the benefit of shield is pretty decent and could reduce dmg like 1+ or so. I've seen many high lvls in to s/s and dats keeps me wondering.

Btw, sometimes it not that a players wan to fight. But when some1 fight, massive lag will occur and immobilize ur moves. And thats sad.

You oculd always do S/S with heuksal Mastery... +hp and not much diff from spear - sword mag dmg.. but u get block somtimes, base your sheild on BR instead of the actual defence to make up for lack in BR +% the sheild wont have for investing in bicheon.

Joymax is very good at making a balanced game. I am sure spear or sword with the new skills will be competitive against each other. Just take the one you think you will enjoy more.

I would pick sword solely for the shield, but thats just me. To me there is no such thing as to much defense.

Mana shield will be great, but it won't always be there, the shield will.

Well if u wore Armour you could use a spear

Well, you are a heavy int, so you lack of defense. A shield with it's block is life saving in many situations, especially if has a high BR. So i recommend you to use a s/s, since the difference in damage between a spear and sword isn't really great, if your sword has high stats.

hopefully with the new skills it is better. becos atm i am lvl 80 with 87% naked (102% with gear) and with sword i cant kill anyone. Thank God i can still kill pure ints and int hybrids with my spear.

pure or hybird spear with mana shield will difinitely die from pure str archers due to lack of defense and blocking capability. With s/s, shield will do say...... the worst shield will block 1 out of 10 hits and that 1 could block the highest hit that would have left u on the ground.

What you lack more than phys defense is hp. Str's have some of the lowest dmg in the game---if you've got armor, you're a sitting duck for another pure int who has the power to take you down in one or two hits if you're in armor. For example:
I remember hunting with my lvl 72 guildie, who was int hybrid spear with +3 spear. A lvl 70+ nuker, pure int with sword/shield, came up to us unsuited. I told my guildie to be careful, in case he puts on a suit and decides to try and take us by surprise. Though I could tell the guy wanted to try and kill us, he didn't dare put on the suit, since my guildie could 1-hit him with ease, while, being in garms, he wouldn't have died as easily. The guy was in armor. (BTW my guildie still beat low 7x glaivers. Then again he was the one, the only cuchulain lol )
