Question about deleveling

Post by joquin1337 »

Hi guys, I've been reading the fine stuff posted on this forum about strats and builds just read about the concept of "deleveling" a character.

My question is: there seem to be rumors to the effect that if you delevel your character, you will lose stat points, either Str or Int.

Is this true?

Everytime you level up, you receive 5 stat points. 2 are automatically distributed for you - one into INT, and one into STR. 3 you get to manually distribute by yourself.
When you delevel, you lose the 2 that are automatically distributed for you, but not the 3 that you get to distribute yourself.

Thanks for the response.

Wow, bummer...cause I sort of was following the guides on this forum and deleveled to SP farm better.

Does shadowman mean that once you level up again, you get those 2 auto-distributed points back? Or do you lose them forever. Cause that would be baaaaaad.

you get the 2 auto distributed points back.

you cannot distribute the 3 other points yourself; they stay where you put
em before you deleveled. so actually you have lost no stat points when you
back on the level you were before.

You don't lose ANY stat points. Not even the auto-allocated ones.

I know this as a fact ok, everyone who says otherwise does not know what they are talking about.

I don't know who to believe!

The first theory posted by fena seems more convincing.

Any more expert opinions?

I never de-levelled, seems counter-productive to the whole concept of a level based game.

That's because you deleveled to level 37, where you could normally not use a level 38 bow, so the game made it weaker.

@topic starter, listen to me.
You keep all stat points after you delevel, I know as a fact because I've been on many hacked accounts, they all keep their stat points after deleveling.
You could even make a level 6 char, then delevel him just to see.

Raini, you know that we :love: you, but you're wrong.
Each time you level, like I said, two points are automatically distributed for you - one into INT, and one into STR. Then, you get to distribute 3 points manually for yourself, into whatever you choose.
When you delevel, the 3 points that you manually distribute are GONE. However, when you level back up, you don't get to redistribute them. They're in the place that you distributed them into the first time.

LOL.
So am I wrong? If I was, then sorry for misleading you, Joquin. Just read in multiple threads what I backed up, and what I might still be backing up. I believe SMS said that in another thread - I'll send him a PM and tell him to check this thread out.
But in the event that I AM wrong, that means that me and Cin are both wrong. Cin, be a dear and ban them both, won't you? :x :P

Ah...thanks guys, Rain, it's nice to hear differing theories and even screenshots for the respective viewpoints. In the end, all I'm concerned about is the long term, which all parties seem to agree on: no permanent stat point loss for deleveling.

??? I'm not sure what you're saying, if you're implying that I was wrong... I'll just ask you to read my posts again, I have always said you lose no stat points upon deleveling.

@cin

Yeah, sorry I didn't take screenshots, but I really really hate getting in game when I'm not going to play for an hour +, if I'm not, it's just a waste of time in my book.
