INT Sword Vs. INT Spear

Okey, so i've heard that pure int spear is the fastest leveler.. ( after lvl 32 )
But how much slower is the pure int sword?

And which one is the funniest?

I want to hear the opinions from both int s/s users and int spear users.
Why they think that their favorite is most fun.. Because I know that alot of people here have tried both..

I really want an answer to my question, with the lvl thingy..
Spear lvls fastest. But is sword alot slower or basically the same?

int spear users do lvl faster due to the higher mag attack, but Sword/Shield users have higher defence with extra shield and extra blues.

in PvP S/S users should be able to Own spear users using the right combos, such as Castle shield if they decide to use ghost spear or stun , and the chance of getting a block help alot.

LoL I dunno about s/s pure ints owning spear pure ints. My experience is they both take each other out in one hit. So it's only a matter of who gets the nuke off first. :p

Sword, cause when you chain, there is a small chance you screw up and fall on you ass, very funny, no such luck with the spear.

if you say sword owns spear in pvp all i saw is BULLSHIT.

its called fanning storm +93843294 magic defense.

all a sword can hope for is 8 billion blocks during those 15 seconds.
still a fire book 2 int spear nuke should do.

This is what I do : grind with a spear and PVP with my sword...i'm sure alot of people do this.

Yea just grind with spear and up your sword skills...also if you're s/s , spear will seem more fun, and vice versa.

Spear only stands a chance if its in garms. Even if he uses fan storm, sword just ghostwalks away, uses mountain shield, and vigors away those 15 seconds. After they are over, the sword will win. Or the sword could just KD the spear quite a few times. That works too

Edit: I actually find sword lvls faster later (well depends---faster on phys mobs imo), but thats just me I guess...

i have a int spear lvl 60 and a ss lvl like 40, i dont pvp with them so i realy dont know but i think that full int spear in pvp is better, but its fun to kd with ss.. i saw a guy named XMAT that is a dual and that build seems like the funnest, but dnt know what will hapend in euro.. but for now ss is better cuze you get some more def and all..

1. PvE is NOT fun
2. If you want to have more fun in PvE I say go with the sword. I use a spear and I die very often when I fight giants (my lightning nuke either pulls more mobs or the giant crits me). Shields will make you happy.

Pures? Do neither and go s/s hybrid.

As a s/s hybrid, you'll still do insane damage, and you also get the option of uphunting whereas the pure int spear will die from one power swing crit. The dmg difference between a spear and a sword isn't as great as the extra health and blocking ability you'll gain from a shield.

In pvp, the spear can't block any attacks so with their low health, you'll die in one knockdown. If a pure str glavier is my lvl, he'll die in one knockdown as well if any of those hits are a crit, so worse if you're a pure int, heh.

Pure int spears are only good at hunting similar-leveled monsters, not higher, nor out on the pvp field.

int hybrid sword cant kill anything at my lvl unless the weapon is godly.
if u go hybrid go spear, int hybrid spear is prob my most favorite build :love:

to be fair, spear users can block something. spearfan book2, it blocks nukes XD

but I would have to say spear int is funner (i kno its not a word ^^)
not feels more satisfying than doing soul spear soul. It just feels so heavy and impacting!! BOOM BOOM

And don't forget spear int can use the nuke+ghost spear combo. thats almost an insta-kill to most ints in armor.

And that would explain perfectly why I know int hybrid swords who kill uniques all the time (ks them from pures with slightly inferior weps cuz the hybrids can tank), can tank glaivers, and manage to kill all but sos-bladers at 6x/7x. It all depends on your balances and how you play the build: "hybrid int" is such a vague term. It could mean a lot of different things. I am hybrid int sword right now (technically) and I have 108% mag balance. :roll:

I think I can kill stuff pretty well thanks....

Yeah. I'm a hybrid int. I've put three points into str at this moment. I have 108% mag balance. Thats more of a pure-type balance. Though technically I'm hybrid, I'm way more different from a 2:1 int hybrid than a pure. See what I mean? There are lots of different int hybrids that can do different things---some are better at killing, some are better at tanking.

for PVE ... spear better cuz u nuking with larger mag dmg. those who claim they cant stay alive with a pure int spear on giants/uniques, you just need to learn how to play a pure int spear.

for PVP ... it could go either way. so it depends more on your liking. to go pure or hybrid, i'd say pure will be easier to manage while hybrid requires a bit more thought. so for seasoned players, they would know what's best for them. you keep hearing hybrid spear with 85% mag balance goodness, but if u cant handle it, its no good for you anyways. sword vs spear in pvp ... spear for the quick knockout, sword to eat up your pots in a longer battle.

It is mainly because I have the Bloody Fan Storm, this skill significantly reduce the nuke power from s/s to 50-70%.
If not, one nuke from them will eat up lot of my hp.
And a pure int nuking with a spear or a sword does make a huge difference in power.
Considering the damage power for a sword is one tier less than a spear.
(i.e. a level 72 sword only has the power of a level 68 spear.)
And you are telling me they nuke the same???
I kept a set of sword/shield with me to save my life when pvp-ing or got raped by a few giants + champions.
And I know a sword the nuking power is significantly less than a spear.

well...i know you have a lot of your info already, but i just wanted to put in my little "two cents". im lvl 75 pure int nuker s/s...i agree with some of the people that have posted here, yet i also disagree with a few. started training with spear at lvl 18, and continued to grind with it until lvl 64. the reason i switched over is because i got to the point of which i could no longer tank as many mobs while i was grinding. i found that i died significantly less with a s/s than with a spear. yes its true i do more dmg with a spear. but i found that i lvled faster and survived longer with s/s.

So... for PvP, i really prefer s/s over spear because i like the KD against other classes, espesially pure str. glaivers and bladers.

But for PvE before lvl 60, i kind of recomend using a spear and trying to put a bit of health on ur gear so u can survive mobs easier...

AND DO NOT FIGHT ANYWHERE that a Giant can 1 hit u...if ur lvl 50 nuker spear at Penons, and the penon giant 1 hits you...DO NOT TRAIN THERE..

nuker for lvl use almost always nuke so.. use spear for lvl xD
