tuna salad
need:
1 big can of tuna (idk 450g?)
- make that tuna in oil or water. not in jelly or something =_=
1/3 onion
2 gherkins
light mayonnaise (probably about 3 or 4 big scoops)
mustard
step 1: open can of tuna. let the oil leak out.
step 2: put tuna in a bowl and start mashing it with a
knife so you dont have big chunks of tuna in your salad.
step 3: chop onion and gherkins into small pieces and add to tuna
step 4: put in mayonnaise until the salade is nice and soggy.
step 5: put in a little bit of mustard just to spice it up a bit
served cold. to be eaten with bread mostly
edit: and i always put some chili flakes on it to spice it up more.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
my indonesian grannie used to make fishcookies when
shed be at our place.. they taste great!! ill try translating
the recepy
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FISHCOOKIEZ
what you need
- 1 large can of pink salmon (approx. 418 gram)
- 3 "beschuiten" or crackers. beschuit is translated as rusk.
- 1 spoon of flower
- 4 or more eggs
- 6 spoons of chopped onion
- 2 pieces of garlic (chopped)
- a big squeeze of tomato ketchup
- if you want, you can add some capers too
- black pepper
- oil to bake it in
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
how to make it
you make it in a big bowl (to mix it)
- crumble the rusk
- add the salmon (take out the bones and skin)
- add the spoon of flower
-- now stir it
- add the eggs, garlic, ketchup, pepper (,capers)
-- mix it
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
now you have the mix to make the cookies.
- put oil in a baking pan
- make sure the oil is hot
- now scoop a spoon of the mix and put it in the oil
-- when one side is brown (i prefer em to get a bit black-ish. no problem),
flip them over
-- when both sides are brown/black, they are done. doesnt matter if the
sides still look pink-ish. thats fine.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sauce
the sauce doesnt have a proper recepy, so improvise a bit
basics:
- chopped onions
- garlic
-- bake in oil till its glossy
- add paprika (dunno maybe called pepper? the big ones; green/red/yellow
- little bit of water, pepper, vinegar, sugar and a little "maggi" block.. that
maggi block is just some herb block, you dont really need it. i couldnt
find it here in australia so we did without
-- let this heat up a bit longer and you are done.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
what to eat em with
you can eat em with just about anything; potatos, rice (we always ate
em with rice), on a sandwich with some ketchup, all is fine.
enjoy! was always one of my favorite meals

Pirogie is Jewish??
than I shoulda know them.. but I didn't... strange
Anyways,
Food: Scrambled Egg De'll Foek, Egg Sandwich De'll Foek.
Scrambled Egg De'll Foek:
Cuz it's a combo b'tween Peanut Flav, Egg, Turkey Meat and Chilli Souce.
Receipe for for 2:
Put 3 eggs together and add a splash of milk. maybe some more milk. grab some sliced turkey meat and slice it in little squares. grab a frying-pan and melt some butter in. throw the egg-milk-turkey mixture in it and find a spatula. stur the mixture around in the fryingpan and keep on doing that till it is yellow-brown-gold-ish. pour some peanut sauce over it and some sweet chille sauce and keep sturring. grab another egg and break it, throw the contents over it. when the newest egg is combined with the egg that was allready in the pan, throw some salt over it. put some bread in the toaster and when the breads are ready, bon-a-petite!
Egg Sandwich De'll Foek:
A good combination of egg and bread.
For 1 person:
grab 2 eggs. Put a frying pan on the fire and melt some butter in it. when the butter is melted put 1 egg in the pan. grab a slice of bread and just when you have put the egg in the pan, lay the slice of bread on it. then put the second egg over the bread. bake it till it looks good enough for you by flipping it over every 2 minutes. put 2 slices of bread in a toaster till their nice brown. grab some mayonaise and curry ( I think ya'll have different curry than the Dutches, so maybe you should leave it out..) and some cucumber. slice the cucumber in like, 12 thin slices.
when the eggbread is ready, lay it on a plate to cool off a bit, and you can make the rest of the sandwich. Put a slice of turkey(just loving turkey=) ) on one of the toasted sandwiches. pour some mayo and curry(hmm, maybe Ketchup works too...) on it and then lay the eggbread on it ( if you used a bif frying pan you probably have some egg edges on it, so cut those off). lay the edges you just cut off on that and pour a bit salt on it. then again some sliced turkey and cucumber, and again some mayo and curry. put the final toasted bread on it and tadaa=) cut through half and bon a petite=)
*WARNING: THIS SANDWICH IS THREE LAYERS THICK. BE CAREFULL WHILE EATING AND IF YOU POURED TOO MANY MAYO AND CURRY ON IT THERE IS A BIG SAUCED SHIRT ALLERT. KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN UNDER 12 YEARS OLD*

Hey cin, are you dutch??
with the dutch curry on it it is really delicious, and I've never tried it with ketchup so I don't know how that works out...
or else don't put ketchup on it...
but you're right, the eggbread is really simple to make, I just explained the rest of the sandwich a bit hard..
but it is really good and I recomend it to ya'll if you don't have the money for a pizza=)
everyone has got eggs and bread at home so that's not a problem
