What pure STR build should I pick?

Im having a debate as to whether I should go bow, blade, or glaive

any suggestions are welcomed, and if you could please include pro/cons you get a cookie

with the new skill update bow is gonna be better then it was before, becease of knock back and stun...however people are forgetting they wont deal more damage, they only have some effects with the update
bow is the fastest str build you can get

glavie is atm the cookie cutter build, becease it works great, strong in pvp and good leveling speed.

Blade slowest leveling build in game, but (imo) the most fun to play with, and jezus christ, with the shield buff you can tank at least 3 glaviers for 15 sec :shock:

pick the one you suite the most, becease if you know you arn't a very tactic pvp player, don't take bow, becease you will have to work with phantom and fire/ice walls

a good bower,will outdamage a glaiver anytime.

damage : bow>glaive>blader
survivabilty : blader>glaive>bow

hmmm bow sounds really appealing, but I like the flashy flashy blade but that levels so slow -_-

Blade is the most entertaining when grinding. Takes the bore out of Silkroad grinds. Plus, you can always join a EXP. Auto-Share party with a bot and be powerleveled. [Remembers doing that at level 16 at bunwangs]

I can tank three average Glaviers without the Castle Technique buff.

However, my vote goes for Blader. Yes, the grind is quite slow, when you compare it to other builds. But no, it's not, IMO, boring, like a Glavier or a Bowman. They pretty much just do the same skills over and over, and over again. For a Glavier, it's just SSS + Mars, and then rinse and repeat. Nothing else to it, really. Doesn't take a genius to play a Glavier.
But it could be said the same for a Blader, except that there are alot more moves available to you. For a Glavier, some moves just don't make SENSE to use - for example, the Annihilating Blade, or the Heuksal Spear Series.
With a Blader, you max almost every book out, because there's a definitive use for every single book. You don't stick to the same two skills over, and over again. Thus, it's not repetitive, and it's much more fun. But then again, that's just my opinion.

Not to mention us Bladers have the sexiest weapons ingame, as well as the sexiest moves.
Once again, yes, the grind is slow. But in the end, it's all worth it. :love:

I've said it a hundred times, but I don't mind saying it again.

blade = bad dmg, grinds slow, shield, KD
bow = ok dmg, grind ok, ranged, stun+knockback(euro update)
glavie = best str dmg, grinds better, stun + knockback

I would take Glavie.

+ Grinds fast (perhaps not as fast as bow but much faster than blade)
+ better dmg
+ kb & stun
+ tank better than bow cause of stun/kb

- cant tank as much as blader

Ah, and when the Euro update comes out, Bow will have both Stun and KB.
Then we'll see who's still king.

And by that, I mean Bladers, hehe.

But seriously - a bowman played correctly often has higher damage than a Glavier, not to mention the mass amount of Criticals that it's able to achieve with Anti-Devil. Coupled with Stun with Strongbow, and KB with the combos, Bowman will be on the same level as Glaviers, if not even more so.

Glaviers may be king right now, but that's only because of the reasons you listed. When the skills get updated to 80... well, we'll just have to wait and see, won't we?

People think bow will be awesome after the update, which it probably will be. A killer combo with 35% KB on each hit (something like this?) and a strongbow which has a 30% chance of stun. However, keep in mind these moves are still very weak damage-wise compared to the glaivers'. I would pick bow.....

Blade: Pros are you can tank. You are the best tank in Chinese SRO. Since you got pots and can wear garms, you're probably the best tank in SRO. I've got a lvl 66 blade friend who eats almost every 6x glaiver for breakfast, and does every other build for a snack.
Glaive: At the moment, definitely one of the best compromises between damage and tankage. Pros: You can tank to some extent AND kill your enemy before they can kill you, particularly with a crit. You won't have a pot battle unless its with a blade or a well-geared bow (unless the int REALLY out-does your gear). Cons: You don't have block. You don't have extra defense of blader. You don't have range of archer. You don't have damage of nuker. In a matter of speaking, glaives are almost like hybrids compared to bladers (only in a certain way though), except their crits really pack a punch, and they get extra hp from the passive.
Bow: You get range. Right now, with a ghostwalk that makes the range obsolete, and no status effects, bows are pretty much one of the worst builds at killing other str builds and hybrid sword. They are awesome at killing pure ints though, and will get even better with their nasty interrupt-combo.

Hope this helped! I would go bow, because I got no time for a blader, but glaive is a great option too. There's a reason most people are either str glaive, int sword, or int hybrid spear right now lol

I took blader, and although I haven't had a chance to grind, and got screwed into all npc gear I think I might like it

blader is the worst pvper ever..... cant tank, cant kill, cant grind, can nothin

well, the blader cant tank, because no one is afraid of his dmg ...
if u got a 5on5, and theres a blader on the other side, ull first kill the nukers, then ull kill the glaviers...after that, when theres no one else left, ull all go on the blader, often in 3on1... there, the blader cant tank enough and dies too... wenn i played sro, i never was beaten by a blader in my level, the dmg was too low! well, sometimes i couldnt beat em too, and it was just a pot-fight... but, like i said before, in group-pvp u dont have to kill a blader, so...
well bows arent that strong, because i dont think, bow is a pure str weapon... if u look at the stats>bow's more like a sword.... id always create a 70:70 bow... never pure str, just because they got a crit skill....
in my time, bows werent the "killer", too, i always laughed about them

since there is the ice-immunity, bows cant stop no one... reallly....the glavier is the ultimate weapon in pvp!

OMFG GUYS, BOW OUTDAMAGES GLAIVE
their skills are around the same dmg,but bow has an awesome crit with their blue devil.
oh and glaive,will still have bigger survivability after the patch
because,glaive has a passive which is giving them +1-2k hp(dunno how much after the patch)
