http://www.mr-corner.com/LittlePoll/ - simple, free and very customizable little script for a site poll.

http://www.mywebstats.org/ - a great little web based counter that is ad free.

http://www.sitefeedback.net/ - cute little site feedback script. I ended up not using it, but its still kinda cool.

http://www.airtightinteractive.com/simpleviewer/ - totally awesome script for a free flash photo gallery. There three different types even.

http://www.polldaddy.com/default.asp - Another poll site, this has really awsome customizable polls. We ended up not using it cause the CSS of the poll and our site conflicted.

http://codes.mashable.com/led-scroller - The only ad free LED scroller I ever found. You can even change the dimensions if you do the height and width equally.

http://www.histats.com/ - I didnt end up using it because it does have a small ad, but its still kinda cool.

http://www.cbox.ws/ - Awesome little shout box. No ads really. I could exchange it for a just as functional scripted one on the site itself, but this one works, so why bother.

http://www.bravenet.com/ Web based mailer. Couldnt use mailto on our free site and this is the cleanest, easiest to use web based one I found. It does direct you to thier site for confirmation when the form is sent, but it send them right back to your site after. There are lots of other cool things here also.

For everything else you might need, there is http://www.hotscripts.com/ I couldnt have found half the stuff I did without it. http://www.tucows.com/ is also pretty cool.

There are LOTS of sites out there for free gaming sites. A lot are ad free like ours. Wouldnt take much searching to find 10.

http://www.clansitemanager.com/main.asp - Great place to make a clan site if you know NOTHING about scripting. Everything is built in and easily customizable.

http://www.freeforums.org/ has ad free forums, just not so good free style sheets. We used eAmped for our forum, which has ads, but we are going to switch that over to the same server as our site eventually.

you can actually find the script for cbox and edit it to use forum names and make it read only

You can go to afraid.org and get a sub-domain for free. Like sitename.silk.com (just point it to your webhost's nameservers and add it in cPanel as an add-on domain).

Also, Heliohost is a good free host. You can get ads-free plan by making 25 posts a month then buy a plan with the points you earn. Or an ads plan for free (banner on top of every page though). Oh yes, they got a very nice cPanel (including such features as fantastico and awstats).

My union's website (which is currently incomplete) is hosted on the same host as my guild site and uses a domain from afraid.org. http://daemons.silk.com/

You can also use afraid.org as a redirect (just incase you want an easy to remember URL). Like kssr.silk.com will redirect to kssr.heliohost.org
