going from +3 to +5
going from +3 to +5
yes, tell me everything i need to know, as i know nothing about alching past +3 beacuse ive never done it.
i need to know everything i need to do to preserve my bows stats etc, because i dont have 8mil to remake it.
so, tell away.
*i was told to do something to it you need to buy with irl money a stone to use on it, truth, or not?

The Astrals, Shadowman covered. Basically, you know that if you fail with a weapon elixir, you go back down to +0. Astrals only work if your weapon is ATLEAST +4. When it's so, and you try to go for +5, or anything higher, and it fails, then your weapon will be taken back down to +4, rather than +0.
You can also buy Immortals from the Item Mall. If you try to go higher than +5, your weapon can break, and Immortals will keep it from breaking. On some weapons, they're already there as a default blue, when you pick it up.
Steady prevents your weapon from losing durability. If you've ever seen an ugly red line of text along with the blues, that's what Steady prevents. Steady isn't a stone you can buy from the Item Mall, but it's a stone that you can buy from other players.
You might also want to consider putting a Stone of Lucky on your weapon. It gives you an increased chance to successfully alchemize your weapon. This also comes by default as a blue, when you pick up an item.
To summarize, from the Item Mall, you can buy Astrals and Immortals. Stones of Lucky, and Steady, you can buy from other players, and all of them EXCEPT Astral are sometimes blues by default.

it has steady on it, and lucky.
also, i have enough money so elixirs are no problem.
so basicly, can i try putting it up to 5 and it wont destroy or lose durability

Go to the nearest chapel, mosque or whatever religion you are and if you don't believe in God/Allah, then start believing.
When you get in-game, before starting doing alchemy get a full SoSun set +9 and have lucky 5 times on each of them. Sit down, in front of a dimensional portal, open the alchemy window put in all items. Press on it, close your eyes and move your cursor over the dimensional portal.
Then you have a 0.02% to succeed, instead of a normal 0.01% chance

Just keep trying and it will work xD
Also try closing your eyes when you start for real, it really surprises you than if you succeed

I don't I just buy it already with plus and blue if I can find it.....way I figure, I would spend as much on stones/lucky powders/elix and in the end no guarantee......
Did anyone mention lucky powders you buy from the same girl that sells the void rondo......these help increase the chances of success as well ..especially if you do not have lucky as a blue on your equipment that you are trying to alch.

is that +5 lvl 24 for sale
So, it's always advisible to buy the +5 and above staffs from the other player than doing it yourself... It's all about luck... and you might spend more than the actual price in order to make it +5 and above!! there's no guarentee in forging!!

Yes, but on the other hand, you could have amazing luck, like Poocho. It's not YOUR alchemy luck. It's your ITEM's luck. Each item already has a pre-determined, built-in success rate. Some items may go up to +5, without Astrals, in one go. Some may take a hundred weapon elixirs to even get it to +3. Poochu's bow may just be an example of a good weapon. From +3 to +5 in one go.
However, I'd agree with you when you say that it's advisable to buy already pre-pimped weapons. They'll save you from running the risk of losing money trying to blue out your own weapon, which may often amount to more than your weapon is worth. I once had a 42 SoM Glavie, and spent 60M, messing up the Critical, and then trying to fix it. Which I ended up not doing. The money went straight down the toilet.
However, my L68 Blade, I spent one Challenge stone, and got the Critical from 7 - 13 (100%). Actually, I'm going to make a thread in the GD about it, asking for some advice on the Magical Attack...
Point being, it's not YOUR Alchemy luck that may be the problem. It's the weapons. No, JM doesn't hate you. It just hates the weapon.
Poochu, BTW, congratulations on the +5.
