well.. did you update it? i helped several people with the guide so far.. and
in the end it just turned out they made a little mistake.. id say just try it
again; uninstall csro, install csro, extract both files from the .rar in the csro
folder, run the .bat (when it says press any key, you should press any key),
see if you have the media22.pk2, rename media.pk2 to media2.pk2, rename
media22.pk2 to media.pk2, run the client.

in that order.

Hmm sure? I've never had this problem but...

Not by me, but worth an own guide.

ok prepare yourselves to start playing euro chars.

1 - install client and manual or automatic update it
2 - download and extract to your silkroad folder -> http://bbs.srocn.com/viewfile.asp?ID=40338
3 - run sro_patch.bat
4 - wait till its over and you have a file called data22.pk2
5- rename data.pk2 to data1.pk2 or whatever you want
6 - rename data22.pk2 to data.pk2
7 - start game and happy gaming

I think I may have the solution, as I had this too.
1. Reinstall Csro - But Do not patch at all.
2. Run the sro_patch.bat
3. Should work, rename Data and such.
4. Run Csro and let patch.
5. Enjoy.

Big difference is that the 1st one updates before the new data.pk2 and
the 2nd one updates after the new data.pk2. just see what works for you.

Do you have the launcher open? If not, open the Task Manager and look for the "silkroad.exe" process, in the "Processes" tab. And close it, then, try again.
