Regarding re**.com Notice

Date : 3/27/2007

inquiry : 13707

Recently many players got nervous about outflowing information and hacking damage from re**.com, because characters and items of certain players were searched in the corresponding website.

We have investigated the site, re**.com, and have found out the results listed below, so there is no need to feel uneasy regarding this issue.

* The site is written in special mark to prevent players from clicking the link.

[Results of Investigation]

1. Corresponding website is not a hacking site of our Silkroad Online server, but is rather a scanning site of players' PCs.

2. Scanning can be progressed by re**.com, using information achieved from their site visitation and registration, or when a bot program is used, through the help of a virus program.

3. The information that can be scanned is very simple, as shown in their website. Other important information such as password is safe from this scanning progress.

4. For secure game play, please restrict yourself from visiting re**.com, and run an anti-virus program at least once a week.

Ps and run an anti-virus program at least once a week.If you visit the site.

lol how can the game data be on our side? I think rev6 scans player by placing a bot at hotan or something to read the packets, so it should be safe.

I make sure I have NoScript running when I visit that site. It blocks all javascript and XSR scripts except for sites you allow them for.

 Firefox addons

For some reason....I could care less what JM says since that right there is a lie. It doesn't scan a player's computer to get data....there's a ladder bot as someone else said.

And it's fun to see people's gear and such on the site.

I hate when JM tries to scare people...when they're just useless...always...
I need power level of a euro lvl 12 account. 200K per hour (oasis)

lol you people are funny ^^
There only server-side php script.
That site has 0 client side script.
They don't even have javascript or vbscript client side.

Yes it is safe to browse.
Just don't go in the forum section to download there tool,
if you download a file .zip or .rar and you extract it and
you open a file .exe Now you are not safe.

If you don't do what I said before, then you are safe.
There a reason why they are so popular, if it wasn't safe they
wouldn't be popular at all and there would be a lot of thread
about them hacking account.

People actually voluntarily use there application to record data
on the server. But a lot of people make scary stories about
there site, and the owner is the worst, he claim story for noob
to be afraid of there site so a lot of people are scared about
it but it's only legends story.

10 min ban is for missing the password 3 times.
Unless you can explain how rev6 got your account name
to actually login 3 time with a wrong password?!?

But watch out they have a new weapon, if you visit there site they
have a wall hack system, so next time you masturbate, think twice.

This is ridiculous. The website itself does not hack your computer or scan it in any way whatsoever.

Players who use the ladder bot are doing nothing wrong, and are not compromising your account security. The way they recieve and record data is by the program/lladder bot intercepting data sent to the server about your items, character, and so on.

It's an in-game thing, it has nothing to do with your actual computer visiting their website, although scanning your computer once a week is always a good idea. :)
