SOSun, SOStar, SOMoon

Post by silverstorm1 »

what do they mean. I m a noobie here so help me out. I've heard that SOSun is like having a weapon +15. I know they are all better than a regular weapon without them, but i want specifics. what are their benefits, and what aproximate +'s do they have such as i believe the SOSun has the same as a +15

I could be wrong, but SOS is the equivalent of a weapon 5 levels above, SOM 10 levels, SoSun 15 levels. E.g. if you have an SOS lvl 24 bow, it would be the equivalent of a normal lvl 29 bow.

SoS - +5
SoM - +10
SoSun - +15

You'll see a little yellow message near the bottom of the weapon, when you hover your mouse over it, indicating which one it is. Simply put, it's about that many levels better than a regular weapon.

Ex.
You have a SoSun+4 L16 Glavie.
That'd be like a L35 Glavie.

Base Level 16 + SoSun (15) + the 4 that comes from weapon elixirs = L35 Glavie.

Those Seals also come in Armor, Garment, and Protector. They ONLY come in the Base Level of the Tiers.

Ex.
D2 weapons come in Tiers 8, 10, and 13, I believe. The Seals only come on 8.

Next time, try reading a Guide. They're in the Stickies. You'll find alot of the stuff in them. :)

Base Level 16 + SoSun (15) + the 4 that comes from weapon elixirs = L35 Glavie.

Not True !!! Think about what you are saying, I have seen this arguement put on many threads example

He Has a 64 som +3 and the other guy only has a lvl 72+5

Firstly if you are one of these posters, sit down then take a deep breath and slap yourself in the face.

Now lets analise this Criticaly;

Player A has a 64 SoM +3 if we take SoM=10
We have 64+10+3=77
Player B has a 72 +5 = 77

To assume we are using our english correct of which I will admit im not always the first. Accusing Player A of having a Superior weapon to player B by using the statement "only".

Firstly we can see this is false 77 for Player A = 77 for Player B therefore A is not > than B, A=B right ??

NO. Lets have a closer look at the weapons ok We are all aware of such things as stats. Now as we all no farmers are famous with trying to co-ordinate, their 9 Level Gap with a New Degree of Weapon Being Available. Reason, Each Degree in weapon takes a Jump in Attk Ratings and Stat Maxes, Above the normal lvl by lvl (Check this yourself) Calculate the Difference between two weapons of same degree at different level, ok add the stats of each particular and then divide by the level difference, this is our normal increase. Now, do the same between the degree's and divide by the level difference. Its simple and obvious.

With this we can see that a lvl 38 weap will be greater than a lvl 35+3 on Average.

So a lvl 64 SoM +3 Will Not be Greater 72+5, ON AVERAGE. Of course you can pimp out on and not the other but chances are the adding stats effect that the lvl 64 has of 8 levels alone to catch the lvl 72 will not be the same as having a lvl 72, IMHO the effect of SOS is the possible adding of stats that would be of a similar weapon 5 levels higher and in my experience not the actual result. You end up with a weapon inferior to a weapon actually 5 levels higher May I re state this

SOS = +5 BUT a lvl 32 SoS/+5 is not as good as a lvl 37 !

actually the 72+5 is better because soX still has the reinforce of a lvl 64 weapon

Right off the bat, im not sure about the max reinforce differences between the seals themselves, but i know my sun+5 bow with a mag reinf of 61% is higher than my 72+7 with a mag reinf of 22% by about 40% (251% for the 72+7 and 290-295% for the sun.) Seems unlikely that if i upgraded the 72+7's reinforce to 60%+, that it would make up the difference. So seal items dont have the same reinforce as 64 items.

What value does 'x' represent?
for the first one, the 'x' would be 3, the second one would be 5, and the third one would be 9. What exactly are those?

seal items have better reinforce then the normal tier items

a 64 sos has better reinforce & base stat than a normal lvl 64 weapon

it only gets better for som & sosun (fyi, sosun 64 weapon has better reinforce than lvl 72 weapon, end of story)

not to mention sox has way better crit base stat
