Anyway... back to the topic i guess. Most of your life is spent dying. I know it sounds depressing so i will try to make it cheary. Brain cells are unable to repair themselves once they are injured so for some of you it's too late to use all of your mind powers I think that it's after the age of 6 (or whenever your mind is done developing) that it degenerates. Also there is mitochondria that provide energy for cells but i doubt that they are "living." So far the theory is that some protozoa*.. i forget... ate another "thing" (the now called "mitochondria") ... i forget that too... and they developed some symbiotic relationship. Anyway all of our cells have mitochondria. And the neat part is that mitochondria only comes from our mothers. In otherwords, it is only present in the egg. You can trace your ancestry... maternal side ... by tracing your mitochondria. Some people do that.
Oh and it's been said that cells can only regenerate so many times. so yea when you are young it is ok to fall but you definitely aren't making yourself younger. Basically, you have repeated ends (they don't code for anything like eyes or whatever) on DNA and as cells divide these ends become shorter. The closer you get to the DNA you risk causing mistakes or chopping up your DNA. Mistakes happen but these become harder to control. Anyway, these ends have been added at the beginning of development... before birth. ... the more mistakes you have in your DNA the more risk you have of getting cancer. This is why cancer is almost inevitable at older ages. We get shorter repeated ends.
