what i need on a laptop to play sro?

Post by underK »

well im going to buy a laptop soon, and im looking for something not too big and heavy (a TFT 15.4'' i think)... but i want to play sro on it, it can be with the lowest settings, that doesnt mind...
what i need to run sro? because i dont know a lot of pcs
how many Ghz i need?
and what graphic card? i dont know how to look if a graphic card is good or no... it will be enough with a NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300 with TurboCache? because maybe i will buy a Toshiba Satellite A200-12X, but im not sure yet

thx :/

A Go 7300 should be more than enough. I have a shared memory ati x200 and it runs fine. A 7300 is probably 4/5 times better than what I have in my laptop.

I could run it on 512 mb of ram and an integrated 64mb card at the lowest settings without any framerate lag(my old computer). Actually I think one time one of the ram cards was loose or moved or something so it was running on 256 at one point and game performance didn't change much. But since good computers are a lot cheaper than they used to be, you'd probably want to get better than that.

I bought a laptop for business but low and behold it can play SRO :P
It's a Compaq Laptop

The specs are:
Athlon 64 Turion *Single Core ftl*
1gig Ram
6150 GO Nvidia Graphics
Windows Vista...stay with XP if you can
It runs it pretty nicely on medium...keep detail shadows off and its smooth as butter. Nothing like my Built gaming desktop..but not bad for on the road gaming.
Back after 3 years....
