Nope.

You have a mastery level limit (bottom right of the skill window). Every time you level up a mastery (not a skill, the mastery itself) one of those levels is taken. You can have 300 levels in any given masteries.

If you do the math you can max out 3 Mastery types and get another to 60. When the level cap rises to 90 you will be able to max out 3 Mastery types and get another to 30. If you're willing to go as far level 80, you should concentrate on 3 Mastery types only.
Note: Only masteries add to the Total Mastery amount. You can add and improve skills in each mastery as much as you want (and as much as your current mastery level allows you).

Yes, I know, I wasn't in-game when I wrote it, and I remembered it just now. I've edited it out, as you can see :P

ok, so i know what 2 i want to master...

can i max them out all the way? or do i only get so many points to put into those? i'm using the first fire force thing... i only raised it one level to use it. i can +add or something like that, but it cost points. will i be able to max that out and max out other spells in that same line?

thanks again,

michael

The amount of skill points you gain depends on how much you are fighting, and how high your gap is, and not on your level. So basically, you are able to max out 2 masteries (technically you can max out 3, even if the level cap was 100). In case you don't know, the gap=your level - your highest mastery level. The higher the gap is (9 is the maximum you should use), the more SP you gain per kill, but also, the less EXP. People using a gap of 9 are called SPFarmers, since they are literally farming SP while neglecting their leveling. Once they earn enough they can make their gap 0 and lvl up very fast, because they already have all the SP they need up to a certain level.
