Non-Cookie Cutter Glavie

Post by [SD]TurnipTruck »

I was wondering, is a hybrid glavie worth building or will it be intensely weak. Due to the heuksal passive it is possible to have the same amount of HP as pure str. blade and bow and have more MP. Also, if possible, please post which skills to get and which to skip. Thank you.

If you go glavie go pure str. There is no use of putting points into int. Plus you need your PHY damage
Pure Str Rogue Lvl 3x
Pure Str Glavie lvl 5x
Pure Int Spear lvl 4x

as a glaive pure str is better but with more int your hitting with imbue will get stronger..

sidenote: if you have like 10k hp as pure str and 8k hp as hybrid str (both glaives) and both have the lvl 6 hp passive, both with have 1k hp more so the difference will still be 2k ;)

He said more than blade and bow pure strs.

Also, yeah, hybrid str just doesn't work out...
As a bow people like to think it does, but I'm still not too sure about that.

If you do hybrid str, I'd say 1:2... Because if you have very little points into int, it'll be like no more damage, but less hp... So it's a lose lose.

There is a reason for made for order builds, it WORKS. It may not be the most interesting but they can hold their own, and unfortunately no other glaive build in my opinion stands up to full strength.

Turnpick I have had the same thought as you. Increase your damage with only a slight sacrafice in HP. I have no idea if it works, my gut feeling is it works as well as a pure str, no better or worse.

@Raingul I am pretty sure everything is linear in this game, If he adds only a few points into int, he would gain almost the exact same amount of damage as loss from HP. (not much)

@Muyo The physical defense that would be lost by going hybrid would directly transfer into a magic defense increase. I don't know if it would be an equal exchange though.

The only good reason I can think to not go hybrid would be that the benefit of using a glavie that reinforces your physical build would be reduced.

For int hybrid it is easier to over look the weapon issue because a spear and sword can have a higher crit, then a glavie and blade. The higher crit will make up for the less efficient reinforcing of there build.

Oh if you do decide to go hybrid and are only thinking of adding enough int to make your hp = to a pure str bow, then you would use the exact same skills as a pure str glavie.
lvl 65 4gap 84:84 bow inactive.

If it's just a few points (less than 10), I don't see the difference. That being said, just alchemy some more int onto your gear. If you mean 15+ points then it would start to reduce your HP a lot. Just 15 Int points will reduce your total HP by 600 @ L80! Not a good tradeoff, and not recommended at all.

A 600 HP reduction but glavie have the advantage of the heuksal passive and therefore you would still have more hp than pure str bow or blade.

intensly weak, unless your char is barely hybrid..
like, add 30 int, then for the rest of the game str..

Ok, I decided to go with Pure Str. because it is proven.

@krysis: I like the sig.
