Why does it say that Silkroad Online is a Free to Play game?

Post by LockStar. »

Just to start...if you have nothing to say or want to flame, please dont do it here as I dont want to get banned.

I am just wondering, why is Silkroad Online still classified as a free game?

It is so Pay to play that even the people that pay dont get to play, not to talk about those who dont pay. Why does joymax threat people that dont have premiums, but buy silk equally to people that dont buy silk at all.

For the past 3 weeks I havent been able to play undisturbed for over an hour and a half. I have a pet and SP ticket, I have been a customer for some time now and I want to know why does Joymax want to make me buy a premium in order to play this game, because if you dont have a premium you are SCREWED, I got disconnected 7 times in 2 hours...and it aint from my connection.

Can you guys please give me a reason for not stopping playing SRO? I used to have faith that it will change, but I dont see it anymore. :(

Btw..here is a video I made a week ago just to express my feelings about all of this :

Because it costs you $0 to download, install, start the game, make a character, and play(although it can be harder to login now if you don't pay lol, but still not impossible :x.

The money only buys you an advantage which isn't a Must to play, just a Want :d.

No offense to the people who ask these "is it really free to play" questions, BUT, shut the hell up already! We ALL know that SOMETIMES it's hard to log in and the bots are crazy, BUT, it was your CHOICE to buy silk. Silk does nothing but give you a slight advantage, the only real advantage is the PT which lets you get in on the first try. Go play WoW or Guild Wars or some other game that has a WAY better community or customer service for that matter. Just please, and I am asking with all sincerity from the bottom of my heart, please stop complaining about this game. It is free, you don't HAVE to buy the silk. Thank you for letting me speak my mind.

F2P - they make money through item mall by giving an advantage, they can say players don't have a right to anything, they can do a half-ass job.
P2P - they would have to provide better costumer service, provide more constant updates, and etc, if they want to keep the subscribers.

In the end, it is better for JM to make this game F2P because they earn money without a big burden of responsibility.

The way I think of it, it's like those arcade places where you play games to earn tickets and exchange them for prizes. In that it is addicting, so you pay money for crap stuff, but you aren't really entitled to anything. Ok, maybe that is a bad analogy.

umm, Dude premium is well worth it, hell half the people out here already were spending 30$ for silk every month. So why not just keep spending that by buying a premium and renew your pet. I understand not everyone can. Hell, my bro has no premium, and that b*****rd is on longer than I am.

Here, let me break it down.

DC's
Me: 0
Him: 2 times this whole week

lag
me: I have more than he does and i have a fckin premium..lol
him: no lag

Me: 2.0 AMD Sempron , 512 DDR SDRam, nvidia 6100
Him: His comp pwns mine..:p

Free to play, lol well funny. I'm glad I have a PT since you can't even login at 2am GMT anymore without one

If you wanna play this game at all in a european country you have to play at 3am or buy a PT, at least if your in the US the servers ease up around 8pm EST.

I'd rather have the pay to play option for SRO then paying $20 bucks a month for PT. Even the popular WoW cost less to play. Look at Rose Online and the other games I forgot their names rofl, they're were free at one time and now they're P2P and they're still great... just no botters or cheaters.

no im pretty sure its ur shitty connection, i dont have pt, but i can play for a good 10 hrs and not get d/c'd, so unless ur running it on a dial-up connection, or your comp sucks more than a black hole, the pt wouldn't help you anyways

get a effing job .....once you have a steady income you dont even need to worry about how much the premium ticket is , you just know that you have to have one...jeese i cant believe how many kids complain about the prices of silk mall items and maybe its because they have to explain to there mothers why they just charged 20$ USD on her card for there game every month
and WoW may be 10$ per month but just about every person who plays WoW has boughten gold online at one point or another.

+1

That pretty much sums it up. You dont have to Pay to Play, but if you do, you get perks.

Dude, what are you on about? I run a 4mbit hi-speed connection with steady speeds...I never have spikes or surgeons because I've tested it many times, also I can assure you that 3 weeks ago I could play SRO all all day long without getting a single second of lag,not to talk about disconnect...I can assure you about that.

No need to go 'effing' on me.

I don't want to say that I have a steady income, but I can just say that I can afford paying 20 bux for a silver ticket + clock for my pet, now I only pay for my pet and I have been buying clocks everymonth for 4 months now..

My point is that I dont think that Joymax's ways of threating people like me that buy silk but refuse to buy premium is right...

And thanks to the 'yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah' people for the mega spam.[/quote]

Your question was answered.

Thank You.

Back before the item mall the game was just fine. But once it was implemented and you bought some of the items you could not live with out them there after because it made the game easier.

And I doubt Joymax is attacking users (not the exact words) who buy silk and dont buy a Premium. The game was just fine before the premium ticket too. Maybe its a little harder now but it was still hard before the premium ticket to login. Just that people see the premium ticket as the only way of loging in these days.... When its not.

silkroad is free to play but if you CHOOSE to buy silk you get added benefits plus if people did'nt buy silk and support the game it wud close down..

And to all the people who say they have never been disconnected well when you try to login and fail and it says disconected from server technically dose'nt it mean you have infact been d/c :D :D
