sro_client.exe has encountered a problem.
I keep on getting this message after trying to start up Silkroad. "sro_client.exe has encountered a problem. We are sorry for the inconvienince." and then the message asks if i want to send an error report. I just downloaded and installed Silkroad and have yet to get it working. I am trying to access the HOSTS files that are mentioned in the "7 problems" sticky but i cant find them in the stated file. Any suggestions would be greatly appreiciated.

Install the new client.. supposedly that fixes the issue.
Edit: I'm dumb and don't really read everything. You need to uninstall and completely reinstall the client from the website, it should work okay then. Otherwise, you might have a program running that isn't compatible with the client.
I love your name xD

This is caused by a networking issue. Try this:
Open your hosts file in notepad (located in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc or C:\WINNT\System32\drivers\etc)
Delete everything and change it to:
127.0.0.1 localhost
121.128.133.26 gwgt1.joymax.co.kr
121.128.133.26 gwgt1.joymax.com
121.128.133.27 gwgt2.joymax.co.kr 121.128.133.27 gwgt2.joymax.com
64.152.34.142 joymaxnpro.nefficient.com
121.128.133.12 silkroadonline.net
Save it and reboot.
You also need to ensure that Silkroad is allowed through all firewalls, including software and hardware.
If that does not fix the issue, you can add Silkroad as an exception. Instructions:
1. Click Start, Run, and type wscui.cpl, and then click OK. Then click "Windows Firewall."
2. On the Exceptions tab, add silkroad.exe and sro_client.exe in the C:\Program Files\Silkroad folder.
Additionally, you can add TCP port 15779 as an exception.
