Concerning taking SAT prep course.
I know some of you people in the States either took some SAT tests and/or will take it. Here's an interesting article.
I was a SAT tutor for a brief period (volunteer as math tutor) while I was in college. The article hits a lot of points. That is, we mainly read off of instructional books about the strategy and blah blah blah... Save your money and go buy the books or online practice course instead.

You got a perfect score on the ACT? Sounds like bs...
willing to bet ur life on it?
if u dont believe me then dont, its cool.
SAT is basic material so is ACT, AND they re-use questions -.-
So sit through 4 books and ACTUALLY buckle down for those 2.5 hors and take the test, like you would if it were test day, no music, no food, no water. After u get used to the atmosphere its cake
EDIT: also, if u want a tiny bit of extra practice, u can go to collegebord.com and have Questions of the Day emailed to u, a sample SAT practice question everyday, just to keep that mind fresh =)

I got a 1605 on the new test. But as a Brit I'm not used to those style of tests at all. I Took the Princeton Review revision course, the first lesson helped in understanding what the test was, but after that the 600$ or whatever it was really didn't help.
On a side note, one of my friends scored a perfect score in her SAT. 2400

This is shocking. If you score a 1350, which I thought was just average, you'd be among the top 7% of your peers.

Should get it over with, it's kinda slipped my mind this whole past year till you brought it up...
It's not even hard. It's hard to get the perfect score because
1. hey everyone makes mistake
2. The vocabulary in the English part is ridiculous (because I don't read LOL)
If you put a decent effort into this thing, you should be able to get a decent score (like top 10%-15%). Nothing to be worried about mate.

well i missed 3 on reading 1 on math and 2 on writing (stupid essay) and got 1580 cause the reading and writing had nice curves, the 20 pts i lost were due to math, and i only missed one

since we're showing off scores, i got 2010 and 32 for SAT and ACT respectively, without practicing on a single practice test. i actually just copied down the answers from the back of the SAT books and showed them to my dad (asian family = grades 4 life) while spending the rest of the 3 hrs playing sro =P

Heh I'm not scared, I've always been an excellent test taker. I just need to get it over with.
Peace.
