To all the people getting the "???????????" error

ok, i hardly ever got the ??? error, now i do. right after i started my gold ticket and skill ticket, i got that error, then i tried to log in again, and i did. got to the char screen, clicked, pressed start or whatever, and when my char started loading, ??? again.

Update all drivers, including sound and graphics, then update DirectX to 9.0c. Also download any updates/patches/hotfixes from Microsoft Update. Also, check to make sure that your resolution settings in Windows match your Silkroad in-game resolution settings.

i know its not software issues, its cause i started the 4 week gold ticket and 4 week skill ticket together....i can log on with any other character on the same account or different. i think its an error on joymaxes end..

Mabey I got a solution it worked for me =)

Make a new acc on you computer and install sro on it and voila you can play (atleast I can =\ ) O, yes I don't know if it makes a difference but don't make that Computer acc leader

actually i reinstalled sro and it worked.....idk what that did but it worked.

I get the ????? error, just after i press start to launch the game.

I have this error for a long time now, even though i moved from an nvidia card to a ati card and havd always the latest drivers. The problem is from joymax, not from our cards and drivers.

However, the ???? error doesnt bother me, cause i just restart the launcher and everything is ok.

I never encountered the error in game.

I think this error is more common in ATI (the one I have now) it appears at lunch. when I had Nvidia it was rare.

My spec

OS : Windows XP Professional Edition Service Pack 2
CPU : AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4600+

I pressed start on the launcher and it gave me this generic error thing then it went to this ????????? and had info about my graphic card. I CAN'T W8 TO PLAY SILKROAD!!!!! :cry:

It's where you installed Silkroad on your computer. Most likely(if you didn't change the default location) it should be in your Program Files folder. Go to your desktop, then My Computer, then Local Disk C, then Program Files and you should see a Silkroad folder in there. Then just do what the maker of this thread says to do.

No. I get the error with the sound off... and I use Windows 98 too. It must be something else (at least in my case). I also tried updating the NVidia driver but it's not the problem either.

Im experiencing the error a lot, over the last few days.
Even with the 4 .exes set to windows 98/Me still having them.

Gonna reinstall sro now, maybe that fixes the normal Disconnects too.
