what's a noob?

what is a noob for you? people in sro seem to call noob player who arent low lvl, but usually I call noob pplayer who arent good, don't know the game very well or are just plain retard. I've been playing GuildWars for 2 years, and everyone is same lvl with same gear there, so only skill matter, so my perception of noob is more like the GW player noob.

what do you think?

yea I've been called noob by a dude 6 lvl higher than me and he was so proud to kill me it was sad lol.

They are hardly the same.
n00b is an insult.

"Newbie" is used to describe someone who is inexperienced at a game.

"n00b" is a harsh and insulting term for players who does not know what they are doing in game and act inadequately.

Guild Wars FTW! Btw, i haven't been up with the GW news, do you know when GW 2 is supposed to come out?

Noob...come to think of it, i don't really use this word at all in SRO. If i want to curse at the guy, i just curse at him, why use the word nood instead, doesn't make sense. People seem to use the word if they are mad at you for being better than them in most cases. They use it loosely, like when they are mad at you and have nothing else to say. *cough*just like pureowange*cough*. I think noob was meant to be said as NEW-BEE, not NOOB as most people pronounce it. Also i think it was meant just to be another way to spell out newbie, just shorter and easier, but the word noob has become a vulgar word used to descride dumbshits and assholes and all that other stuff...it was never meant for harm at all...That's just my view on it...

noob = some one who knows nothing about the game(includes high lvls with really farked up skills)

I use the term "nub" most of the time, and It has two meanings to me.

One is a playful, "you little nub".

One is like "your so bad, you dont even get noob status nub".

People who use the word n00b are idiots. I get called that alot by these foreign players if I don't sell them something they want or just do something they don't like.

i've been called a noob because i wear all soms. even tho i'm 55 i beat someone thats lvl 66 its not that their chars sucks. its cus i got soms. i tried to explain som is like a +10 so a lvl 52 som is weaker then their weapon but no. i'm a noob because i use soms.

and i dont like to call retarted ppl noobs. i call them nublets. as quoted from urbandictionary.com. when two noobs mate, a nublet is born. so nublets are worse then noobs.

When I pwn someone I call him a noob. Always done so in cod and same in sro, I don't call new players a noob cause it's an insult and they've done nothing wrong.( Neither have players who I pwned, but w/e, just habit)

I think saying noob is better than nub. To me saying nub is like saying "hey guys im gay!". It just seems like a really gay version of newbie. I also knew someone who was trying to get people to start using the word "boon" instead of "noob" on RedSea. Now i thought that was going too far...
