Best Rapper Alive: Lil' Wayne
Why? Because nobody doing it right now is doing it like him. He's got lyricism, flexibility, energy, and consistency on the mic. Most importantly consistency. Every single verse from Tha Carter (2004) to Da Drought 3 (2007) has been fire. Before Tha Carter, he wasn't all that good. His freestyle was on point but imo there wasn't much from his albums that impressed me. Which is another reason he's the best - look at how he turned shit around and went from being ignored to getting $60,000 per verse all at the age of 25. Yea, he's a cocky little niglet, but I do think he's the best rapper alive.
Greatest Rapper Alive: Jay-Z
Yes, there's a difference between Best and Greatest. I say Jay is the greatest because of his lyricism, consistency and business sense. Go listen to Reasonable Doubt then listen to Kingdom Come - same flow, different content, MUCH more money. This guy is worth more money than any other rapper - ever. That speaks volumes, imo. He went from some lil hood niglet in Bed Stuy to this multi-multi-multi-million dollar business man with more power than any other rapper. And it all started with his flow.

Yeah, I make it rain on 'dem hoes.. my 10 year old cousin could have wrote that. I give it to him though.. he's gotten better since he broke away from Big Tymers.
Depends what you mean by best, the best lyrically, the fastest, the most innovative.. there's a lot of categories to break that down into.
As for fastest I'd say check out Tonedeff or the more popular Twista.

so P. Diddy must be number 1
I respect Diddy and his business sense. But he can't rap. At all. I said Jay-Z is the greatest because Jay-Z can rap and built his brand on rapping. Diddy built his name from producing and introducing other artists. Diddy isn't a rapper, he's a producer that just so happens to rap.
Rockshmo wrote:Nah P.Diddy was arrested a couple times.. recently for shooting in a club.. Jay-Z is smarter than that.
+1
Although he did beat the case. That counts for something.

Lil' Wayne was never with Big Tymers. Big Tymers consisted of Baby and Manny Fresh. And Lil' Wayne is still on Cash Money with Baby.

Good choices, you don't seem like someone who'd like them.
I'd have to say Nas, Dre, all of BTNH, Spice One, most of Wu Tang, Daz Dillenger, The Game, Ice Cube...
Tempted to list Andre Nickatina just cos of his good voice and unique style, but most of his songs lack deep meaning.

I have to agree though bone thugs are pretty quick rappers..

What I ment by that, is that he cant rap. So he doesnt count for a rapper. I would assume that you would of understood me.

Roc-A-Fella Records is one of the largest hip hop/rap record labels in the United States. It was co-founded in 1996 New York City by hip hop mogul Damon "Dame" Dash, Kareem "Biggs" Burke, and Shawn Carter (also known as multi-platinum rapper Jay-Z).
diddy just goes in all the the songs that people that are on his label he really doesn't do his own song most of them he's just in it.
