im writing a term paper for creative writing and must choose 5 books and analyze each... all the book i like are in chinese and its English class so yeah....

The movie is BS. The description don't even match... I mean, i know they don't need to be exact but... they are very different. And this is a book that is focused in descriptions a lot.

Things happen too fast, the story isn't even explained properly... really crappy imo.

movie sucked dont bother seeing it. completely dumbed down the whole book to where it was painful to watch

The Eragon movie was total shit. They left out so many of my favorite book parts, and essential plot lines, book 3 better be damned good to make up for it.

I read Eragon series, Bartimaeus Trilogy, Harry Potter series, Dresden Files, any books about Midkemia, same for ones with Drizzt Do'Urden or his world, and then the Dragonlance books. Those are all my favorite. Dune was ok, but bland imo, and haven't found any other series that I like.

Catch-22 by Joseph Heller
A satirical war story, incredibly funny, and quite possibly my favorite novel ever. Also a classic; your English teacher would approve. Plus when someone says "that's a Catch-22 situation" you will know exactly what they mean.

Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut
Another classic by a great author who recently passed away. Again, this will get you major brownie points with your teacher. It's sort of science fiction, and sort of satire. Vonnegut has his own style, hard to put him in a category.

Foundation by Isaac Asimov
There's a reason this trilogy has a Hugo Award for Best Series Ever. What Lord of the Rings is to the fantasy genre, Foundation is to science fiction. It's probably the longest of the books I'm recommending, and if you don't like science fiction it might be hard to get through. If you do like science fiction and you haven't read it already, shame on you! If you've read it already, Asimov has written literally hundreds of books; The Gods Themselves is one I enjoyed (and Asimov's own favorite, apparently). The Caves of Steel is less "out there" and is the first book in the robot series which is probably his second most popular after Foundation.

Fear by L. Ron Hubbard
Yeah, he's the founder of Scientology. Don't worry though, he wrote this book first, and it is good. If you are into psychological thrillers, this book will seriously f*** you up. This is a book Stephen King called "one of the really, really good ones." Not nearly as long as some of King's books, though. I think I read it in a day. But then, I read fast, and I think I stayed up all night with this one. Which I do NOT recommend doing, by the way.

Lord of the Flies by William Golding
Another classic that will score you points with your teacher. The front cover of my copy says "OVER 5,055,000 COPIES IN PRINT"—and my copy is from 1959. Basically, a bunch of kids get shipwrecked on a desert island, lose their minds a little bit... It's twisted. Pig's blood is involved. It was written over 50 years ago though, so it might be tough to get through? Been a long time since I read it. I was pretty young; this book messed me up. Probably wouldn't have the same effect on me now.

Anything by Kurt Vonnegut is good, but Hocus Pocus, Slaughterhouse 5, Cat's Cradle and Player Piano are all great. Vonnegut is like the 20th century's Mark Twain.

Ashenden by Somerset Maugham is another one I really liked.

1984 and Brave New World, both very good.

Brave New World can either be a great book, or horrible. I thought it was great, but alot of people I know hated it.
Depends on your perspective.
