Str Sword?

Well i got a drop from a white face spider and it was a plain 52 sword and had critical 12 so i got bored and started using it the sword did 100-200less dmg then i did before.

My blade is 52+5 with phy 40%

yet this plain sword was doing alot of dmg, then i thought if u where to have 3/4/5 int on every item i have which i d0.

wouldnt a +5 sword do more dmg then my blade then
since it will still have phy attack maybe not as much but the mag attack will be higher then phy
=more dmg
since int=high attack'

thing is iam 100% pure STR

idk if any of u tried it,
post ur results.

if you go back like 5 months ago when i was a noob here i posted a topic where i did more damage with a sword as a full str blader with similar weapons


it was just flame after flame after flame.

i had been thinkin about trying a sword too, i couldnt find a good 52 blade for a while (i incidently found a SOS 52+4 for 32 mil) so i was thinking about sword as there seemed to be an abundance of really good swords.

anyway, the only problem i could see with it was as well as having the less phy damage, they phy re-inforce was also much lower and as all the mathematics dictate on str builds you need those high stats to get ur damage high. or at least thats how ive always understood it :s

i think i'll badger someone in union to lend me a good 52 sword for a couple hours and see for myself.

lol why is step 4 always ?????

and your blade will outdamage that sword always. altho it has nice magical damage, that wont affect u too much. since u are pure str, u derive most of your attack from physical thus the magical damage of the sword is almost neglibable. a +5 blade lv 52 will have close physical attack power as a l vl 52 sos sword. u do the math

To answer your question.

A normal attack with a blade and a sword wouldn't b too much of a difference.

But I THINK (im not sure so i have to only think) that:

The damage difference comes in when you use weapon skills. You deal more damage with a blade when using a weapon skill.

The dmg difference wont be too high especially cause you're a blader... as a glaiver or nuker you would feel the difference. But you will always do more damage with a blade rather than a sword
