No, its not prohibited at all, but its common knowledge to people who do alchemy that assimilations can happen. How much alchemy have you done? When you have str assimilate from 5-->1 when trying to add duro :banghead:

the xp i got with alchemy is most part in +ing weapons,
but with stones once ive spent like 15 crit 7d for a +6 blade with stats,
from only 4 successful tries not a single assimilation.
no to mention all the int/str i use to put on weapons, everydegree.
here you see my xp with stones when i say
the probabilty of sucess of stones being used i.e on a +5 weapon = same if it was elixir, maybe less because you have no lucky powder.
surely i wouldn't know such thing if i was inexperienced doing this kind of thing.

When plussing weapons, there is 0 chance of assimilation. The only thing that even comes close to assimilation from plussing is if you try to go too high without steady and get a red duro stat.

If you have used stones on a bunch of items and have never gotten an assimilation, you are very lucky. The % of the stone (0%, 5%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 35%) determines the chances you will get an assimilation, 35% being the best chance that it will change a stat you didnt wish to change, for better or for worse. When doing stone alchemy on near fully pimped gear, most people will stay away from anything higher than 20%, sometimes even 10%, because with a high % stone, there is a high % chance for assimilation.
