JoyMax's new moneymaker
OK, I know I dont play anymore really, but it's prolly because of that that I have noticed something.
I think that JoyMax has made a very important connection. Banned ppl make new chars.
Immediately following the last ban, 2 servers came out. A bunch of capped, bored ppl from those ban lists went and started over, buying new tickets, pets, etc. They dont do anything special for the gold farmer lists, those ppl dont buy silk.
This time, it isnt new servers, its new tickets and a new pet. Again, banned ppl are going to have to start over, buying new pets and new tickets. The ban list was delayed, not because they didnt have the botters names, no. I've heard of ppl that hadnt played in some time that got banned. They had the names already, the delay was in the ITEMS they were adding.
Conspiracy theory or not?

well, i see it like this:
Joymax knows if they ban a botter that buys from item mall, they make a loss of money even tho it might not be much but anyway.
However, lets get into things. So if Joymax bans people they give us new servers or items, prolly trying to motivate new fellow players to start sro or banned people to grind legit, in the real case most likely bot again.
They do it cause its one way to make money i believe...

And guess what, money keeps the game running. I really could care less if botters make new characters they'll be banned eventually and then pay for more tickets, pets, ect. Sounds like a win-win situation for joymax. Hell even the Korean sro has a server purely dedicated for botters, might see one of those pop up for the isro so they make more money.

Starting Fresh.

yes, if they cant control bots then the best they can do is to make a bot server so we can have our peace and they can have theirs.

If you go read "other forums" you will find that most of the ppl that got banned never got a PM from a GM.
So if this is true, then they can do these bans WITHOUT manpower, ie: GMs walking around. So if that is true, why not do it all the time? Why this big dramatic wait? Why start at the oldest servers and work your way down two servers at a time?
Uhh huh.

Older servers: more chance that those players will restart (addicted)
I believe Joymax still does not have a detections that does not need manpower they are probably abusing an excellent idea by other people to catch bots (packets)
Why else does it take so long to catch and determine if people really botted, why are most of these not banned?
- 7 hours or less (talking about bots)
- babysitters who repot (not walking the way points in town)
- packets from new bot version (most who got banned were old version users)
- normal party matching
i think they are just using the rev6 method (wondering how come rev6 suddenly did not make their list of what they believed are bots in each server why didn`t rev6 comment on the accusations Joymax made towards their ladderbot? , was Joymax the one who donated them money? i get the impression it was) but that is another discussion i guess

But, are they leaving the bots IN the game to make money off them later? Are they letting them over run the servers. then mass banning them to make the most profit?
I notice ppl complaining about sudden lag spikes. When did they start? Hmmm, somewhere around the last big ban list maybe? If they WERE doing some kind of mass check, would the resources used create that? I dunno, Im asking. lol
I think they should ban all the bots, dont get me wrong. But I also dont want them to leave them ingame to maximize their gains. If they CAN do a server check to detect bots (I notice that gameguard has been down for this also*) then why arent they doing it all the time?
*bot need a GG bypass to work. They do so by intercepting packets and returning ones that say, "Yes, GG is working and sees nothing". If GG is down, the bot must be sending those packets anyways, right? So no GG, but sending GG packets must be a dead giveaway, right?

I think that you are looking to deep.
So they do a mass ban of bots, yeah of course some of those people are gonna start over again, if they buy silk then they will probably go buy some more. Thats just the way it goes.
If they didint have this massive run up to the banlists and just banned people on a weekly basis, then those people who are "addicted" would still make a new character and buy more silk.
Is this really JM's stratagey can it really be called a stratagey, after all they are not certain that those banned will return, they hope that they will and its a very risky stratagey if it is.
There are alot of easy ways to stop the bot problems that they have said they will "think about", like imbedding the GM signal into the npcs intown so that ehwn you tal to one it automatically sends you a signal like a pm from a GM. or imbed it into the gates of the towns. but you never hear about these again, so maybe they arent bothered about the bot problem as they get so much revenyue from it so they have to have the high profile bot bans so it seems like they are doing some thing about it. And they surge in revenue after those is just a byproduct that they gain alot from.
