Idea to reduce Bots
Idea to reduce Bots
Well its not really an idea to reduce bots, but rather deter them.
I was thinking that before every major ban, Joymax stops all account creation and character creation for a predetermined time.
After every major ban we see hundreds of new characters just flooding Jangan, If account creation and character creation was disabled for a while then sooner or later bot users would be tired of this.
Obviously these major bannings would have to come more frequent. Soon enough the bot level would be really low, with mostly bots of low level, which means less areas for the game admin to check for bots.
Well it was just my idea, what do you guys think?

But sometimes business know that they have to incur a loss to gain a profit.
And im sure once this bot problem is majorly reduced countless people who have quit would return and continue to buy silk.
The creation of accounts wont be forever, but just in the few days following up of a massive ban.

how does banning accounts and stop letting people make new accounts profit? im sure that some people would come back if bot accounts got banned but what about when those "few days" are up? more bot accounts are gonna be created which in turn screws up the economy for lower lvl's. everything is gonna be dramatically inflated but on the flip side, higher lvls would be benefited.
flip side of the high lvl part, with less people, less opportunities to get good equipment. so idk w/e

first point basically says they can stop people making accounts if the servers are crowded.... although, they are very good at typos so it could mean soemthing else, thats how i am perceiving it
2. Company may limit approval for use requests by using any method of approval limitation at the company’s discretion because of any of the conditions below.
① When it is difficult to service normally because of service equipment error or overcrowded service use
② When internet service provider stops the service
③ When the Company can not approve because of technical problem and/or other reasons
④ When problems relating to service or problems regarding payment options occur.

A Profit does not have to be monetary....the profit is that soon there would be a virtualy bot free game, that controls its bot problem.
You already sound like u have given up Dark Shifter
When the few days are up and they start to create their new accounts, dont you think it would be easier to track them? like where else can a level 1 character go to train? Yetis??
And Gold bots wont even have enough chance to get higher level to go DW. Improve the servers economys.

I remember when I first started to play, I made a char on Troy, I loved tha game and tried to get a friend of mine to play like 3 days later. But they had closed off account creation by then for a while.
And even if new players created new accounts they still wouldnt be able to log in because of server traffic
The period to clear most the bots shouldnt take that long, but it also depends on how and the time they create these huge ban lists.

No offense to the optimistic people out there but... Joymax is a company, a company wants money, the more money a company has, the happier they are, the happier they are, the more of a reason not to do w/e possible to make more money.
What that basically means is Joymax is a company thats in business to make money, not to make sure peace on earth etc....

Seems like everyone thinks that Joymax would rather keep the bots and get money than get rid of them....If this was so why wouldnt they sell a bot program on their site? I mean if I owned Joymax and wanted to make money with the bots...I would make a bot and put it onsite.
Make it legal to use a bot, buy bot cards in item mall. Once its made legal noone can complain.
BUT, they dont do this, because they DONT support bots!

Don't support bots nor do they do anything about
<<banned from SRF for bot admission. -SG>>

Well they do....just Rarely, But I still feel that my idea could work.
I kno people keep looking for a one day solution, but this bot problem was not created in one day. Its obvious that my idea would take a month or 2 to see real effects. But its a start.

Having played Runescape for a long time and seen their bot problem multiply over the past year, I know that these conpanies love the money they bring in.
Jagex/Runescape had a macro detection system where if someone was reported for using macros, a macro detect was automatically set on their account and they were ultimately banned if they were botting. The problem was, there were the farmers. They'd create 100 accounts a day just to farm gold to sell. Each of these accounts were a PTP account which meant $5 to Jagex per month per character.
When the bots originally started, they would mass ban them every week. Now they don't care. Players like myself quit because of Jagex's lack of customer support, but they really don't care.
They advertise in kids comics these days so they get probably 1k new customers a day. All for $5 a month. I'm small fry in the scheme of things and the fact that people who played for 3 years +, honestly, don't count.
If Joymax are making money fromt he botters, they will never take the banning seriously.

The difference between genius and stupidity is; genius has its limits.
