and for all of you guys out there saying that hes a mean person or whatever else cause hes not giving it back. was it his fault that guy opened stall with 1 gold? i would of put it at 999,999,999 gold first just in case a mistake happened like that. it was out of that guys stupidity that dreamnote got it for nearly free.

FTW. Anyone that plays with sun gear like that (or having everything at 1 gold and leaving the stall in modify status) is asking for trouble. Mistakes can and will happen. I always believe in posting no less than what I want for each item.

I would give it back, unless I was 100% positive that he scammed it (i.e. weapon from guildmate, unionmate, etc). I wouldn't give it back right away tho; I'd have to pimp it for a day or so, until my conscience caught up with me. Then I'd give it back, but ask for a standard return fee, based on the amount for which he meant to sell it (10% is usually good :) ). Perhaps that will serve as your fee for teaching him a lesson. Some might say that's wrong, but bear in mind you could always choose not to give it back. I've returned stuff from people that are genuinely nice about the situation, and kept stuff from others that are complete jerks and say give it back or PK, blah blah.

Whatever you do, I bet he'll never open another 1 g stall again :)

but meh keep it dont do something honorable u never know you might be laughed at for doing something you though was right and we all know how painful you must feel at being laughed at ...=_=

and bringing the fact that its just a game is a bigger reason to find who the bow was scammed from
once you do that post it again
it takes more str to do something right

I find it completely absurd that some of you call the thread starter "mean" or a bad person for buying the bow for 1gp and not giving it back. He didn't scam it... he didn't weasel his way to get it... he didn't steal it from a guild/union mate. HE BOUGHT IT! Why not blame the staller, who is obviously a dumbshit, for opening up a stall that had the bow for 1gp.

If you are dumb enough to put anything worth more than 1gp in a stall for 1gp and OPEN it up you deserve to get the shaft... hard.

Agreed. It's people like this which make this game from a game you could let people borrow equipment and talk with to what it is now where you never let anyone have anything and global fights -_-

Hoooolllld up.
More str? WTF? And being laughed at? I'm pretty sure a "socially accepted" person wouldnt care nearly as much as a socially outcasted. Now, I'm not saying he should give the bow back. You brag, you risk that chance. But saying shit like he has no experience dealing with other people, is complete BULLSHIT and you need to look at YOURSELF before you throw those terms out.

When you start throwing personal attack around instead of arguing about a topic with common decency you know you need to work on that yourself as you're already grasping for straws and have essentially lost to argument. You don't have to belittle yourself or anyone else in an argument. Find how to word things with respect.

Personally I would have giving it back and I do believe that people that wouldn't have given it back are the kind that have ruined much of the social life in this mmorpg. Sure the guy shouldn't have been bragging about his sosun and sure he made a mistake, but to just assume that that person will always be that way and through perhaps a kind act from another like giving it back wouldn't change his ways is indeed a sad look on life.

Always hope people will get better and always strive to set an example. It's like being a good citizen.

Good job. I hate people that taunt with the whole "open/close fast" thing. It's the same as a bully holding something you want over your head shaking it going, "you want it!? you want it?!" and pulling it out of your reach as you jump. This guy just kicked the bully in the sack and took it, and I say good for him.

I hope the moron that was stalling it like that being an ass is curled up in a corner crying right now.

Thinking that way is called revenge, not justice. I'd rather try and help that bully realize his wrong ways and see him grow up a better person contributing to society rather than believe that people will never change. With that outlook on life you're correct they most likely won't ever change as no one is even willing to show them a better way.

It's like a class reunion. Some of the bullies are still like they were but most have had somthing or someone help them better themselves.

Just because you have the opportunity to do something doesn't mean you should automatically do it. I would have informed the person to change the price to be safe. If you say this person was so stupid to do this yet you would put yourself down to his level to be effected with this sort of childish teasing says something about yourself too.

There is also something called "learn from your mistakes." That guy learnt a valueable lesson... don't be a jerk and tease people. And honour ... you want to talk about honour? First off... this is a game... their is no "honour" in it... it's just a way to pass your time... you lose an item it sucks... but thats it... not a big deal. Second thing, this has nothing to do with honour... I'm guessing you don't know what this means... and someone mentioned pride? What does pride have to do with giving an item back? Honour is protecting the weak, helping the defenceless, risking your life for others, doing good deeds, etc. Not giving back an item to a person who obviously doesn't need it and lost due to his shameful behaviour. You want to show honour? Go help a noob out... help him level, give him some cash, show him around the game... TAKE YOUR TIME OUT TO HELP OTHER PEOPLE! Why even waste your breathe defending one who obviously doesn't need it... he chose to be a jerk and he paid the consequences... so lay off.

A honorable person does not just help those he feels need help but people that need help, weather they deserve the help or not they will get it.

Actually I do apologize for that. I had to go to the store to buy a few things and came back and went down the 3rd page I believe to catch up on the comments. I did them at different times and would do them all in one but I do not know how to quote more than one person's post in 1 of mine. I don't care about my post count at all actually. If you know how to please pm me how to so I can do that in the future.

Yeah, just forgive and help scum, so they can exploit you some more. Sorry, I don't buy it. I've tried to "help" plenty of times but the fact is bullying types will NEVER be helped until they get kicked in the sack a few times. Some people need bad things to happen to them before they fix themselves.

People change, but they ain't going to change because you beg them to abuse you more. I'm not going into personal detail but I've been there plenty of times with several people, and the only thing that "fixes" people like this is to let them screw up badly, such as what this guy did here, before they start to realize that maybe being an ass isn't such a good thing.

And don't talk to me about honor, either. It is not dishonorable to punch a guy in the face when he's slapping his wife or kids around. Or any other thuggish type of behaviour. Burning someone that goes around burning other's is not dishonor.

Your correct it's not dishonorable in that case. I also understand completely that it varies by person on what in there life will make them change their ways. It may just be that they will go as far as not change even now. Or only change if they don't get it back. I can't say, no one can. I would though hope to believe that just the thought that he wouldn't get it back would if nothing else make it dawn on him that what he did was wrong, and then on top of that see that the person that did it showed kindness even to him and gave it back would be even better.

Burning anyone on anything is dishonorable. That's putting yourself to doing the same things they do. I know you're better than that. There are always other ways of dealing with things besides doing it right back to them. If someone is beating his wife/kids/anyone you should restrain him surely for the protection of everyone, but you can't loose hope in our justice system or what's the point in even having it. Sure he's filth now but they have programs for people like that.

To be honest, I think this kid who was pulling the taunting is better off having learned a tiny lesson on what this type of behaviour brings you in a game, which is trivial in the bigger picture but no less upsetting because of attachment, than to continue this walk of life and only get worse. To reinforce taunting now by giving it back is only going to plant the idea in his head that he can act however they choose, and when they get bitten by it just cry about honor and how sorry they were and have the consequence rolled back. I'm not saying the jerk is going to quit being a jerk because of this one event in his life, but it is a starting point at least in learning to not act this way, and if by good fortune he gets burned a few more times in his life he might learn.

I know this from experience with people close to me, the biggest jerks sometimes turn out okay, but the reasons for that change is that they suffered hard for that behaviour. They wouldn't likely have changed had they not had to suffer a bit because of it.

Further, I think you are quite wrong about it never being the right thing to do to intervene. Just leaving it up to someone else is a mere "pass the buck" maneuver that generally doesn't work. Step up, knock the bastard out, and then call the cops. Retrain them? Honestly, if you think you can "restrain" someone that is violent and smacking their kids/wife and NOT having them turn on you, then you are going to get yourself hurt badly. I can tell you straight from experience.

Yes some people don't mind reading as long as it's not pointless ;)

Depends on if you actually know how to restrains someone and just thinking you can "hold them down." There are ways to restrain someone effectivly, bu t you again are correct in that circumstance that you don't know how to effectivly that you should just knock them out lol

In general I completely agree with you. There is no solid way of knowing how the guy will react so I'd agree with not giving it back also, but what made this person wrong is to then brag about how great he was to get that. Even if his intention was to teach this person a lesson (though I believe it wasn't) you don't do it to make yourself look good.

Okay, point conceded then. I agree bragging about it wasn't really the noble thing to do.
