I've been experimenting with this, and armor doesnt help too much. Sure, you get some phys defense bonus, but it wont really make a difference unless you're getting hit for large bursts. When you're fighting mobs, you can usually pot inbetween. Right now, i'm sticking with protector because it looks cooler and because of the lessened mana costs :D. If you're pure int, you should fight on stuff you can 1hit anyway.

I never noticed a difference until recently. In the caves with garments on the mobs can one shot me. I tried armor and they now only do half the damage to me.

Even when I was Int I went Garment for the speed boost, and I was planning to be a PvP'er so Garment would have came in hand there, I guess.

armor ftw.. horses for running, zerk for chasing.

the physical defense for me is far more important, because nuker vs nuker, first to hit wins. nuker vs str person, armor will help you live.

True, and depending on the type of weapon used, a str person could crack open a nuker prtty quickly, before the nuke even gets launched (very possible just never seen it).

Worst case scenario for a nuker: not a swordie with shield, but using spear or bow, vs a str fire glaivesman with lightning buffs.

...That extra bit of def. = seconds, which could mean the difference between losing in PvP, and coming out on top.
