Ice or Fire for bow?

Post by Rainigul »

I play on isro sometimes to help out my friend, and I dunno if I wanna be ice or fire bow?
UnDutchable is a fire bow and he's a badass. But I figure if I'm gonna go fire bow, I'll switch to armor, because that seems to be the thing to do.

Discuss.

Oh yeah, I was also considering getting force perhaps? I decided I wanna be more of a support character. I'll be wanted for guilds alot :D

Go with fire imbue, for more damage.
Yes, full STR bowers can be good support chars for this level cap:
80 pacheon
80 fire
70 light
70 force
Carry your cross, and I'll carry mine.

Would you recomend ice or force?
I'd like to be a force guy, I dunno why, I just would :D
And considering I'd be str armor, I wouldn't need the extra def.

If you plan on later caps, screw the force.

At 90 cap, with the new skills you will have to get 90 pacheon and 90 fire. That is sure. Then there are 120 mastery points left. Either be as slow as hell with 60 light and have a weak force at 60, or be very fast with light at 90, and no force at all.

Then, if you really want force, you can go:
90 pach
90 light
90 force :D
Carry your cross, and I'll carry mine.

Howabout if I drop force and be both bow and blade?
Blade is the best, I"ll just use bow to level and as opener in pvp or something.

At 80 cap? yes:
80 bich/pach
80 fire
70 pach/bich
70 light

At 90 cap, no. The light tree all by itself will not suffice to make you stronger then hybrid INT spears/full STR glaives.
Carry your cross, and I'll carry mine.

I plan to drop pacheon before it's all over.

I'm not sure.

I'd like to stick with bow, but it's not the best in pvp.

I'd be fine with glaive, but I dunno if I want to be so mainstream.

Everyone is a STR glaive these days. I think they are boring. All they do in PvP is Soul Spear Soul -> Ghost spear mars. Repeat until crit.

Go with pacheon. full STR bowers can be deadly against INT builds. When I played my pure STR archers with 106% phys. balance, pure INT's of my level (69) went down after my anti-devil steel crit, or right after my multi-arrow combo.
Carry your cross, and I'll carry mine.

Hey, I have a question related.....

I'm dead set on being a fire bower, but I'm confused as to if int would affect that dmg because there is fire involved? I wouldn't think so since it's still my brute attack. Can anyone clarify? =O

Well, INT affects imbue damage, wether it is fire or ice.
The more int you have the stronger your imbue hits.
Full STR fire bow is recommended.

I see =O

So if I go pure str firebower, the phys dmg will still be higher? But my skill dmg will be lower without int?

I see.

I plan on doing mostly trade-runs so I'm going to stick with fire :)

New question though, I read somewhere that you can't use fire with a weapon unless you wear a shield. Could you wear a shield with a bow? I didn't htink you could............. lol.... (Figure you use one hand to hold the bow and the other to shoot, where would you hold a shield?)

haha...

I would go Pacheon, Fire, light. Considering the 90 Cap is probably sneaking up on us faster than we realize.

You can use any buff from fire and the fire tree itself without wearing a shield.
Equip a cheap shield.
Buff fire shield
Equip your bow back. And the buff remains.

Anyways, stick to fire imbue.

I wonder if they're gonna fix that bug (Assuming it is a bug).
