GM impersonators over botters

Post by TheRealAnswer1 »

I think it's pretty funny how JM is more worried about GM impersonators over botters... I mean someone "hacks" the pk2 files and gets around the filter to create a character with GM in it just to go around DC'ing bots.. and I guess JM is like "holy shit people are creating fake GM accounts and are running around DC'ing our customers AHHHH we're losing MONEY!!!! "

i am going to agree with TheRealAnswer1. if you are dumb enough to fall for scams, you deserve to be scammed. [why would GMs need to ask you for your password when they can just access the database themselve] bots are taking up bandwidth making less ppl can connect while this fake gms only take up their own account

clearly, my theory is right, JM is the ultimate owner of all gold selling companies

lmao well if people would actually think about it, why would a GM ask for your account info? And why would a GM want POS items over theirs? :P

I think the fake GM's are great... It's only helping A LOT. It frees up space... If you've ever seen one of the videos they can dc about 20 people in about 10 minutes. You know how good that is? It pisses off botters and it frees up server space and bandwidth.

If you're too dumb to fall for a fake GM then you deserve it... I say keep it up to all fake gms.

Yes but JM doesn't like that we, the players, are creating accounts with GM in them and DC'ing their customers.

When JM says they are working based on the priority...they mean their priority not the users'. So yes, this time the priority was the fake GM over the botters, coz the botters are not bothering them as the fake GMs were.

The 'GMs' were kind of annoying. At least in Eldorado. Flooding chat in Hotan, pming almost everyone in town, especially people w/o guilds. My guild happened to collapse just before the 'GM' thing became popular, so I got lots of pms from the 'GMs' in town. I guess being 40+ w/o guild = botter for some people.
Also, some of these accounts were created by botting guilds and joined them.......

I must say I'm really tired of this circus and I'm happy JM reacted so fast. Maybe the 'player GMs should fight bots themselves' idea isnt that bad. But it would never work with all the most annoying noobs creating 'GM' accounts, like it was this time :banghead:
Nick: Riles
Server: Eldorado
Guild: Iron_Tyrants
Level: 6x
Build: str blader, fire imbue, light, fire and pancheon buffs and passives.

Other active chars: DaRilah (euro cleric), Jurya (ex str archer healer / currently pure staller :)), Squash (murderer nerd )

I dont think it was one over the other.

GM impersonation can be prevented more easily then botting, plus it causes more chaos.

I am pretty sure u think Bot control means just loggin in as a GM and walking around with an 8 inch dick banning everyone that dosent talk to you, looks funny, and gives u shit.

There Botting methods are pretty effective just not done as often as should be for iSRO yet.

the fake GMs are doing a better job than the real GMs
so they ban all accounts that have fake GMs on them so the real Gms dont get fired
