you know what i'd love to see? an explanation of why you did each step. maybe not in this tut, as it's a long one, but i'd love to see people's reasonings, or is it just random/instinct?

Random.
If you want to make a specific TYPE of image, then it is reasoned; ie -
Bubble Text
Bubble Image
Plastic Layover
And so forth...
Other than that, making his arm into a squiggle because he was playing around with a tool isn't premeditated.

I would if I could use both arms.
And no, the arm wasn't *just* playing around with the filters. I wanted to make flow, and it has.
Fracture: How come haven't you got a killer sig, if it's *just* a few filters?

My signature does its job, I'm not going to throw a bunch of meaningless junk together and call it art. Or even 'killer' for that matter.
I'm no PS expert, but half the stuff I see being thrown around as 'amazing work' is just ridiculous.
OLEn is the only person I've seen who can even work text into his designs.

That's your opinion. And text isn't art.

Nor is a signature -- which, lest I'm forgetful, I remember as a way to 'sign' what you post. Usually, this implies text, as an identifiable means to know who wrote the document, without scrolling up and reading the info box.
Then again, maybe you draw cartoons on your checks, and documents.
Geedunk wrote:Define art, and after that stop spamming my threads. If you can't make art - **** off.
Art is something you create from nothing that expresses who you are. This doesn't include modifying 'stock' images because they look 'killer'. My sig isn't art, it just says who I am. I'm confused why you bring up the word art anyway, considering I never mentioned the word in any of my previous posts.
I'm not flaming your tutorial, but if you are going to teach people how to make something, at least make it useful, and re-usable, like Avalanches.

Are you kidding? I love it!That girl's hot. :P
Who is she?
9/10. I really, really like it. There are some things that I don't really like, but they still end up working well. For instance, the background is more or less plain abstract. It works well with this Sig, but I like my Sigs to have more of a concrete background.
I don't like following tuts exactly I take what I want to use and follow their methods in order to learn to do things...I tried to duplicate Ol3n's tut like 8 times and it always looked really pathetic...
The chick is Christina Applegate Thanks for your comments! I want to do less abstract backgrounds, but at this point, they're all I can do.

Always happens to me too, thats why you try to make it your own and try to make it look better without the tut when you screw up
