Wow, for the people who said no...just wow. This is what is so sad about society in this world. No body gives a damn about anything, instead they care about "who has got the smexiest outfit" or "who's the richest person in the world!". This is sad, and I pity those who actually had the nerve to post 'no', I also hope they never have children, cause if they do, their children should know their parents really don't care about their future, in fact they don't care about them or their own futures. *sigh*

Well they care bout their kid's future, but they're just too stupid to realise that by claiming they don't care about global warming, they are indeed claiming that they don't care about their children's future.
I am, however, pretty concerned with how I look Lexies.
Call me vain I guess.
IT IS POSSIBLE TO CARE ABOUT THE EARTH AND CARE ABOUT LOOKIN GOOD TOO!!!!

actually i think polls are flawed
not enough people vote to make it effective and they just choose the funny option and be stupid
its too bad global warming is unavoidable
look at china and india producing 5,000 cars an hour.
Their gas usage is going up up up (well so does the US)
and THEY are the ones going to mess the planet. It takes so long for the US public to learn about global warming
so imagine how long it would take in china when they censor EVERYTHING

Global warming is un-avoidable, BUT we do have the advantage of slowing the process of it considerably.Jstar1 wrote:actually i think polls are flawed

Ok, honestly, I can understand your position. I can definitely see how gobal warming is important. But you really can't expect people to agree with you.
Yes, you may be right. Yes, logic may be on your side. Yes, your concerns may be legitimate. But you know what, nobody will care anyway. The best you can hope for is that your group of followers will back you and you gain more than you lose.
There have been plenty of scares in history and frankly, people (especially Americans) just don't give a **** about things that they feel don't directly affect them (whether or not it really does).
The general public is a collective idiot.

they say cars are one of the biggest problems on pollution -_-. so SRY nature but im not gonna give up on driving. they actually wanted to ban SUV's from some dutch cities LOL.. seriously. if everybody would stop driving cars and doing their thing right now, all countries will run out of money since it is one of their biggest incomes.
if id be rich id buy that 13.6L cadillac v16 right now.
anybody seen that southpark episode on hybrid cars yet?
oh btw all of this is just "my own humble opinion" lol
shall we also start about nuclear power plants? the dutch government had a lot of BS to say about that too.. and some ppl actually believed all that..

You don't "have" to give up driving, but you should give up with the HUGE suvs'.cin wrote:lexies2 wrote:Wow, for the people who said no...just wow. This is what is so sad about society in this world. Besides, there is no point in having a huge car in the first place.
And if you say "because it looks nice" or anything to do with social life, you just proven my fact about "How people care more about they smexiest things, other than what's right in their face"

hm. back home i drive a small vw golf mk3. here i drive a HUGE suv/terrain car, but it runs on gas not petrol, which is fine.
ppl are already working on making the environment better if we take
a look at cars nowadays. round 65% of whole sweden drives hybrid
cars i heard. can be nice, but i will definitely drive an old american v8
when i make enough money to afford the petrol. not because i want to warm the earth or want to show people that i dont care about the environment, because i do (just not as much as greenpeace), but
because it makes me feel good. and that is very important for me.
ah well we will see how well it goes with the ethanol/hydrogen/electro
engines. as long as they dont develop the dbw system too quick so we
can keep our pedals for now ill be fine i think -_-
Once the global oil supply dries up (which will be before 2100) we'll be forced to create new fuels. We could use clean fuels like hydrogen right now, it's just too expensive to set up and distribute, and we still have gasoline. Once we switch to something else I'm sure at least half the issues with emission related pollution will be fixed. Which would mean a healthier atmosphere, and less global warmage.
Over the time Earth has been around it's gone through hot and cold phases. I believe what we're experiencing is just another one of those phases. But it doesn't hurt to stop polluting.

MrJoey, when the average temperature of the planet changes by even a fraction of a degree, it can have a strong effect on weather patterns. This leads to unexpected weather. "Global warming" does not necessarily mean that in any one specific place it will be generally warmer; the average temperature of the planet rising can result in the average temperature of some particular locations falling.
Plus, for me, Boston weather has always been freaky and an April blizzard is not that rare.
