im starting a bow char and i want to ask ur opinion..
70:69 Balance - Good overall damage, but lacking critical, small amount of HP, and very dependante on gear.
76:60 Balance - Overall isn't as good, but critical is much stronger + the char can tank much more.
90:38 Balance - Now this is very heavy Strength Hybrid. any point in making this build?
Don't address the option of being a pure strength plz.. not interested
ive checked it in the java program and its like this:
70:69
76:60
90:38 lol

I'd go for the STR heavy 88~90% physical % build. Basically what you're doing is sacrifising 10% physical for some added dmg from imbue. And as a bow you still depend on your crit alot.
My bower is still pure str though xD kind of scared to try it out.

My heart tells me to go with 76:60. I think its better for a bow then 70:69 cuz of the crits and less dependatcy on gear. The overall dmg is Good and the Crits are still powerfull as well as good HP..with good blue it can be even stronger. 90:38 is just to much of STR i mean a little more overall DMG for the crits? if u go str then go full str not heavy heavy str right? for now i think 76:60 is the best for me but plz i wanna hear more opinions

76:60 isn't that fiig IMO. The crits will not be dangerous, but the damage gain obtained from adding INT will not be very segnificant either.
Full STR (recommended) or 70:70. These are the only real options. 70:70 only works with very good gear. Full STR can do without it.

ok but if ur talking about full str i dont really see the point at taking bow bcuz i think that taking a weapon only by relying on crits is not very safe.
70:70 the crits arent that important cuz the main dmg comes from imbue right? but when going 76:60 the crits have more effect..or maybe going like 80:56?
Pure str bow rocks if u have highest crit possible on your bow and full int or ur eq
cuz a pure str archer can only own if he crits alot and glavie max crit and bow max crit are the same lol, so if u add int u sacrafice some hp but u do more dmg (yes hybrid crit more)

I've tested it, and it comes out to be true. This is in part because 1% int is greater than 1% str in terms of power. I'm not sure by how much, but thats why its easier to raise your int balance than str balance. Int is somewhere around 1.5% compared to 1% str. Recall the damage formula:
mag_dmg_base = int*int_reinforce/100 + mag_dmg
phy_dmg_base = (str*str_reinforce/100 + phy_dmg)*(100+wep_mastery_lv)/100
//damage output
phy_damage = (skill_dmg + base_phy_dmg) * skill_dmg_percent
mag_damage = (imbue_dmg * mastery_bonus_imbue +base_mag_dmg) * skill_dmg_percent
total_damage_output = phy_damage * phy_balance + mag_damage * mag_balance
As you can see, your skill damage % is also factored into the mag damage calculation. I'm pretty sure you can see what that means...
As for tomiotar's graph, I'm going to use Liquidsmooth's build as an example since it seems to be the closes to the perfect balance. At lvl 80 Liquidsmooth's build should have 160 int points. Which means he/she would have added 61 int points. I'm going to assume that tomiotar's graph is accurate.
If you look at the graph, you will see that a pure str will critical for about 7700 and have 16k hp at level 80. Liquidsmooth's build will critical for about 8100 and have 13k hp at level 80. A 70:69 will critical for about 8200 but will only have 9k hp. I'm pretty sure its pretty obvious what that means...
As you level up, the difference will become more apparent. At low levels, it may only a few hundreds in the difference in damage. At higher levels it could possibly become 4k to maybe even a 6k difference in power depending on how close you are to the perfect balance. By perfect balance, I mean that the hp that you sacrificed doesn't hinder your ability to tank because the hp that you sacrificed for the increase in damage makes up more than enough for it.

that means u can crit higher than a pure str
but defniatly pure str in general are better in pve, but in alots of job wars the archers are running around lol
after reading the post i decided to go 88%/42% naked
i was a pure str archer but then i decide to go and currently i am about a 90/38 and i rock, i do some much more dmg than other and i only sacrafice about 3k hp at lvl 80 and total of 48 int added
at lvl 56 i will reach 88%/42% naked = 5:1 str archer
i want to get my 3rd book of antidevil before i pvp.
i am not saying that the "best" bow build is my 88/42 but i think a str heavy bow build is best depending on what u are doing with your chara
pve = more str to survive the nukes
pvp=probably more int but definitely 85% phys balance or highe, cuz too much int and u sacraficed too much hp and cant tank for shit
cuz a pure str archer can only own if he crits alot and glavie max crit and bow max crit are the same lol, so if u add int u sacrafice some hp but u do more dmg (yes hybrid crit more)

Believe me dude, hybrid crits as hard as pure str. At least for bow users. See my old thread. I critted as hard as a pure str when being close to 2.5:1 int (int based).
And for those who dont believe me once again. Wait till im fully farmed and ill prove that.
Quitted sro
