i was looking into getting a new computer... my budget is anywere from 500-600$

I hear windows Vista is terrible so if u can find a different OS like windows XP genuine or something that would b sweet

WHAT I NEED:
Good gfx card anything nvid updated
1gb ram or more
fits coutnerstrike source requirements

My laptop plays Silkroad perfectly.
1.2ghz processor
512mb ram
Crappy integrated video card
Windows XP professional

You don't need a powerhouse machine to play SRO.

Who know what you need?

But besides PC you also need good ntwork connection to plat without lags. But if you plannig to buy video card, buy 7600GT, cheap and really good card for games

your not going to get any new comp that meets those requirements with 500-600 dollars.... try 1-2 thousand

my pc was $1,200 when i got it and now its worth like $900
3.2ghz intel p4

256mb gfx card
160gb hard drive
win xp home

dam i got ripped off.... lol for the same price i got 3.0 ghz p4 1gb ram, 180gig HD, and 128mb ati gfx card...

Are u serious? I have pretty much the same specs and when i used to play SRO i lagged like hell

mines was custom made by velocity micro and had lots of extra shit but i didnt care to mention the mouse, keyboard, moniter, wireless, case design, 5.1 speakers and the cool velocity micro T-shirt that was free but i'd pay for it if it wasnt

oh yea and the extra warranty

The lag probably came from your network. I played SRO and KSRO on that machine no problem.

just keep your budget because even with latop pc you will get lag coz sro is "programmed" by people who don't really care for my point of view ^^.
