ok...well yes i can see that, but you have to remeber one thing. JM dont
do that. they dont clean out servers. all that happens is that when they
make a new server people go it belive it will be lag and empty (yes it will
be its new). but within a week or so that server is new and then
people demand a new one. I mean just look at the pattern.
1=people demand new less crowded server
2=JM gives new server and people join
3=lots of people join server and it reaches its limit in a short time
4=people demand new less crowded server
I mean if JM were really smart then why not just "down " the servers we
have now and just improve them, yes easier done then said
I think he was referring to the huge bot ban they did a few weeks ago. They banned all those bots so they would start fresh on Persia/Zeus (supposedly).
Anyway... I like the Idea of P2P but also agree that it would ruin iSRO. But I dont see why JM cant have both F2P and P2P servers. I hate to admit it, but Jagex (creators of RuneScape) did that and it worked out well. In fact, its one of the only things I still like about RuneScape...
The F2P servers would be what we have now, and the P2P servers would be the servers with all the perks... bot prevention, less lag (less crowded), older players (generally speaking), better GM support, etc.
This would be good for JM too, not just us. Bots will still bot on F2P and buy silk, plus they get the extra income from P2P servers. And its not like they have to buy new servers, they can just convert 2 or 3 of the current ones.

Forever an Avalonian.
If this game got WoW's support and you'd have kind of a GUARANTEE for it and it would improve things, it might be even worth it ... in case they worked a bit on content and things that make the game more interesting, in any case.
Look how popular WoW is ALTHOUGH it costs a monthly fee ... must be partly because of the service as well (yeah yeah I know, there are other, more important factors, and WoW is great anyways, but that's not MY point.)
But I like this game like it is ... no GT = no "force" to play = not soo much addiction because you always think about the money (for me that is).

I agree
you guys should remember game companies are there to earn MONEY. Thats their first priority.
Helping us out and satisfying customers are their lesser problem (and Joymax doesn't often care anyways)
I dont, bots dont buy silk since they grind longer than anybody out there. I know a few botters in this game who never paid a penny to joymax and there lvl 80's with sun's.
So how is joymax losing money?
if they get rid of the bot problems, botters will be forced to grind. They will be BUYING gold tickets and BUYING monkeys to level up.

Actlly bots buy monkeys and GT's...Also later they buy astrals when they get some high sox to play whit it....And also JM will lose half of players.... But other spend +100 $ a week for alchemy or other and joymax would lose because if they go P2P should they have an itam mal..They should sell em in store for some rare coins maybe lol.....
Also i dont think il pay for a game like SRO,id rather buy WOW like everybody in this house that plays)...
And it wont help the boting problem..i dont think Joymax will do anything... + if bots can spend 20 $ for a bor (or how much they are) 5 $ isent a bigy...Actully gold or chars will more cost if the game is P2P on the places where they sell....
So yah hoples...

Spoiler!
Holiday in Austria: happy face / Without internet: sad face
If this game would go P2P at least 80% of the community would quit... because at least 80% of the community are botters.
Other than that if sro goes P2P there will still be half of the noobish kids that have their parents pay it for them just so the kids shut up and stop annoying their parents due to the fact that the kids are all busy playing...
P2P also means that item mall wouldnt have to nessecarily end.
If joymax is smart trying to get some extra money they would keep the item mall.
And if there are really ridiculous and silly people they would pay the game AND a bot just so they can run around and showoff their noob asses then bots wouldnt be the end either.
I highly doubt silkroad would ever go P2P, this game was created to give such young kids, as you say, a chance to play a nice game too since there are so many P2P games. so basically it was and is created for those people who cannot affort to pay some1 for a game. other than that did you know that we are 2 years behind ksro with the updates? they now just got the new skills... so we will have to wait another 2 years til we get em but thats okay for me.
The login time that you need til you can play is not too much in my opinion, yet it is annoying. The lag and the mass amount of retards, bots, ksers are making me creep my hairs out. I cannot pay for item mall due to CC stolen, not noticed. end up having my bank account blocked. I cannot buy gold and i need long to level.
But i accept all these kind of things cause i have yet to say even tho we have all this problems im happy there is a game out there thats not P2P.
A game that keeps me occupied and busy on boring days. I have something that makes me burn down the time of my shitty life.
If sro ever went P2P i would one of the first ones to never play again. But luckily joymax isnt stupid and they know if they dont fix all these issues b4 they go P2P then everyone would quit. Because who would pay for a game that pisses them off anyway and the death of item mall, bots and retards isnt guaranteed?
just my 2 cents

OMG! Check your first three words, and you state about teens playin it? Lol, anyways, who wants to pay and then keep playing with bots? This is not PRo mind you. Your making too muck assumptions but then your reasons are even too pathetic to consider. Are you an employee of JM?

Infact, with all the 10-16 year olds using their parents' credit cards to buy silk they are making nearly as much money as WoW. The reason WoW makes so much more is because of the ridicously priced program/updates/everything. Also, JoyMax makes so much because the game was truly programmed poorly and never updated for typos and the game login system seriously sucks balls.

I have a full quest log at all times (that's how you level). You really should get some first hand knowledge before you talk about something like an expert.
As for your dings on people's maturity, I say this as a forum goer, you fling your age around like it's an entitlement and it makes you right. It does not. I've met many people in games and in real life that are more mature and act more civil than you despite their age being under 16. They don't play the age card, yet that seems to be your main arguement. It's offensive and incorrect.
Lastly when people offer legitimate arguements you revert to your rhetoric rather than responding to or even acknowleding their points.
hellsharpt for president.

I seriously doubt many people would stay if Silkroad went p2p. First, that's the one reason a lot of people play it, because it's an mmorpg with nice graphics that is free. Second, the service is so horrible nobody would want to pay money to play. I mean why pay every month when you have to wait for like half an hour just to log on. And then when your on you get to deal with all the lag problems. Also the gameplay/storyline(lol what storyline)/pve is all baloney, it just looks nice graphically.
If this game was pay to play, is a must most people would quit this game. Most poeple dont even want to keep on buying gold tickets but do since grinding without one is slow. The extra money the person has to pay to play would make this spend less on the items they could of got later on.

Hmm....
Well weather or not you intended to:
You sounded like you were saying 'Anyone who thinks this is a bad idea is just a whiny baby. If you were smart you'd agree with me.' which, if I may say so, makes YOU sound petulant (not a good thing when trying to gain support for an idea)
SRO is fine the way it is and is making more money now than it would P2P for reasons which I will now state.
This is a bad idea for two reasons: Most of the kids I know even if they're from a family who's not so rich, can get a subscription to a game for thier birthday easily. Most of the kids I know even if they're from a family who's not so rich, have a multitude of games. If this goes p2p those who deem it unworthy of thier time (my bet is that most would just go play WoW) would quit and JoyMax profits wouldn't be helped by that.
No what JoyMax has is a pretty good strategy: Make a game thats semi-fun but boring to grind and offer a better way to grind. Many people have done that: make a problem, and solve it. Although this probably isn't 100% true for Joymax it applys in part and also causes thier profits to be modestly well.
I think that about sums up what I wanted to say.

Re: Hmm....
I agree with that last part. You people should notice that they made this game F2P for a reason, which is because they know "most" players will get pissed with the grind, thus making you buy silk. Smart on their part, yet not smart enough to catch me.Calmrod wrote:Well weather or not you intended to:

All Joymax wants is money, more money, and more more more money.
They wont improve service if its p2p f2p or w.e.
anyways they make more money from itemmall from EACH person then they do for WoW.
Think about it... everyone AT LEAST spends 20$ 5$ (monkey) + 14$ (goldticket) a month on this game... not including globals, astrals, imortals, etc.
Joymax had it with us.. they gave up long time ago to improve isro.
Face it.
p.s. Wow has pretty nice comunity, whenever you need help, you can always expect someone to help ya out.
o and sorry if i might have stated points that someone might have aready mentioned, felt too lasy to read all the posts.

They don't have to improve. They can simply add on a $5 a month fee to play it.

it should go p2p but shorten the grind time a bit
botters wouldnt make profit from botting from 1-80 and selling their chars
kiddies wouldnt run rampant yelling "muahaha" lil rimmer said and we should get servers for regions like for north america/maybe england, some for eastern europe and so on
ppl would be more pleased by that cuz i know all u ppl against racism get annoyed by ppl spamming u in some language u can even understand.
"is this guy cursing me or wants to buy my sos?"
and we'll be able to login alot easier maybe anytime of the day.
it'll be like ksro, there will still be bots but not a big a problem as it is in isro
