A Pirate's Guide to Building a Str/Glaive
Personally I thought to take a 4 tree.
Heuksal 80, Fire 80, Ice 68 and Ligtning 62.
That way you would get Might guard and passive from Ice, decent speed and concentration/imbue increase from Lightning but the only problem is that as you said once they enable it to go for level 140, your % damage of Heuksal and Fire would be screwed more or less.
And for pure str it's all about damage, fck protection, die damaging if necessary.
So in other words this guide is as good as perfect, good job if I must say so.

good day megaman...i read ur guides...it is useful n i currently lvling my STR glaiver folwing ur guides..just wanna ask...can i use ur guide to up an PureSTR bow(Pacheon) user??i mean up fire n lightning skill tree...btw..im lack of idea too about how to up the Pacheon skill tree effectively....i saw some STR Pacheon would really lvling easily, without spamming on MP potions...Hope u can gimme some advices n answers...TQ
@Deadroze: I wouldn't recommend the annihilating spear series or heuksal spear series simply because of their low damage output. You could level the heuksal spear series to book2 just for the aoe and successive hits, but be warned - maxing the skill to book3 is simply a waste of sp. You could always use them for pve (which I wouldn't recommend) but you would never use them in pvp. As I said, their damage is simply too low.
@phh990: No worries
@Aizen: Well, you could always take a forth tree, but i'm simply recommending to leave ice (or any forth tree) simply because this build guide is planned to stay strong right through the post-90 levelcap. Think of it as a guide that lists the basics, and you can build/change your own ingame build to whatever you desire. I'm not trying to impose my views of a str-glaiver onto anyone, just creating a template that people can personalize and change to whatever they want.
@godzflame: Nah, get your lightning. It is vital to any build.
@Mage Pker: Firewall makes you immobile while you use it. If your using it in pvp, your opponent will simply maintain a distance between you and him until you cancel the wall/it is destroyed. It also renders you a sitting duck against a nuker who will just nuke your wall until its destroyed while you can only flying dragon him. It is more suitable for a ranged strength build like a bow build for the sole reason that you are immobile while its used.
@tatyawinchu: That 71 masteries is reserved for additional fire/light/heuksal when the cap is raised.
@killer2113: Of course you can. The fire/light skills are suitable for any strength build, just substitute in pacheon instead of heuksal. I could PM you a pacheon str-build template, having levelled a str-bower in past characters.

I'm going to try my best to become exactly like this guide says...
I need a lot of resusitation(sp?) potions to undo all my force/ice skills.
Um newbie question - whats AoE?
And also...(since it's somewhat related to this guide)
I've seen somebody do the shield flower without a shield -- with a glavie.
I know you can equip the shield, do it, then requip your normal weapon and it's still going but that'd be kinda annoying.

AoE = Area of Effect, a skill with an AoE attribute would affect an area (and all mobs in that particular area), not just one mob. Contrasts with spike damage, which affects only a single monster.
Read this.

Ah, thanks.
Another question : If you put every point into str, then won't there be a time when your skills' mp amount > int total? Or your skill will take up all of your mp?
Because ever since I was level 1 I've put two points into str and 1 point into int...if my questions are false then I'll throw everything in str from now on.
(and yes i do know that every lvl 1 point is distributed automatically into str and int)

Simply speaking from my point of view as a pure str glav build wearing garments.....
I am approaching level 40 and my INT has strictly come from level up auto points added. I can usually use imbue and then 2 or 3 skillz on a mob before needing a med MP pot (370). I have my auto-pot set to 50%......
I had it set at 35% for a while but found as my skillz increased I was dropping MP so fast that I was getting a "not enough mp to use skill" message because autopot wasn't replenishing it enough. I will be moving on to large pots soon so I may adjust my autopot % renewal point down again. Maybe someone in the 50-60 level can give you an idea of how there INT....MP usage goes with their pure STR character.......
BTW----I always look for garms/assessories/weps with Blues....mainly STR but I have some with +INT as well so that increases my total.

I forgot about the adding int with equipment...heh another reason to do alchemy ;D

^^^I kinda used this guide and tweaked everything.
See...You can master fire, lighting, force, and Heuksal.
Please comment...and yes I stuck it here because this guide is what I'm trying to become. (So I know if I'll phail if I try to become like the skill tree above)
BTW, the only reason I didn't add ice is because I only like 1 imbue, and also because I like force.

So in other words this guide is as good as perfect, good job if I must say so.
i would pump light to 68/69 no high level has 62 lol

For now it doesn't matter that much, until the cap raises.
With 62 you get max grasswalk speed, with 69 you get max piercing and concentration, that's all.
But with no cold, it's only natural to take 69 light, since by the next update 4 tree's will be farked.

This is probably a old topic, but.
If theres max lvl 140 oneday, my theory is if u invest a whole 10 points in int on a str build (at about lvl 20-30) and get 140(+140% damage!) Fire mastery and 140(+140% damage) bacheon with 20 points in thunder (low +% but it stil helps and u get +% on parry nd stuff) by lvl 140 u have a decent damaged nuke, more then normal mp ( dont need so many mp pots which can get you a KO b/cuz u dont needa concentrate on pots ) for a str build and u dont really miss out on that much hp (about 800) .. plus it gives magic def and magic atk (imbunes + a nuke eg; fire )
Plz reply.
