I've been hearing about that whole "70% 70%" bow build, and I wanted to know if it was any good.
There's this guy in Troy, I think his name is Mixing or something, and he was a bow hybrid, and he was doing pretty well.
I mean, he got killed pretty easy but he was doing AMAZING damage. And he wasn't getting killed like a pure int would, he was able to tank a few shots, but he wasn't able to stand close combat too well.
Right now I'm a s/s hybrid, but my int still isn't too high, I might change to bow because bow is my favorite weapon. Plus, in the skills update bow will get knockback and stun, how cool is that?
Discuss.
Is bow really good?

hi raingul,
there has been a lot of these discussions in the
chars&skills forum. best one was liquidsmooths
but she deleted her build because people were
just telling her she was wrong -.-
she actually deleted it today
anyways i see good chances for bows. i think
we dont know how strong they are at high levels
because so many people act as if bow builds are
doomed to die anyways. they quit them too soon.
the new skills seem to be good but can be quite
a while before we even get them

bow atm relies alot on crits. nukes are good
for pure ints because it is distance attacks. the
bow users already have their distance so there
is not really a point to use nukes.
and bow nukes are ~almost~ never as strong
as nukes from a spear or s/s
assuming your eq is storebought, I don't think bows are every as strong as spear or s/s. But it may be stronger than s/s, I forgot how strong bow is.
Anyways, I'm gonna stick with sword for now, it would be too expensive and a waste of sp to change weapons I think.

i agree on that one.
however.. keep your magic balance up to round
85% and switch to spear is what i can suggest.
since you are a hybrid you dont really need a
shield and you will lack damage cause sword is
a lot less powerful than a spear.
if you stay on sword shield is fine aswell but you
will probably level a lot slower and not do the
damage you would want to do.

Spear>sword>bow in magical damage. So no point in nuking as bow because you might as well be sword to get the shield and kd or spear to get the hp passive and powerful attacks.
