Aha, finally, someone has the same error!

Fracture wrote:Start -> Run -> 'services.msc'

Look for DHCP CLIENT and make sure it is set to AUTOMATIC and it is STARTED

If it isn't the former, then Right click DHCP CLIENT, select properties, and set it to AUTOMATIC, then START it; Close services

Start -> Run -> 'msconfig'

Navigate to the BOOT.INI tab

Select /SAFEBOOT and check MINIMAL

Save and Exit; Restart

Start -> Run -> Control Panel -> Network Connections

Right click and disable your ETHERNET (Local area connection) not your 1394

Unplug your modem; Wait 10-15 seconds.

Plug your modem back in

Enable your ETHERNET and let the connection resume

Start -> Run -> 'cmd'

Once at the command prompt type the following:
ipconfig /renew

After your connection resolves, close the command prompt

Start -> Run -> 'msconfig'

Navigate to BOOT.INI and de-select /SAFEBOOT

Save, Exit, Restart

Please let me know if this fixes your problem, it fixed mine!

You don't have access to your wireless router?

Ok, do you have access to your modem? This is where the connection originates.

Well, I hope that helps, but I was getting '[Error Code(4)]' without anything turned on as well, hence I specialize in this solution.
