Bot Selling and Gold Selling is ILLEGAL

Post by Dark0Archer0 »

Please read this whole post before replying.

Ok, so correct me if i am wrong, but ALL accounts and items on them and exp on them are ALL property of JoyMax. YOU do not own the account, JoyMax does. It is THEIR game, you just play it. So say i was to pay for bot... that is paying for EXP right? EXP is on the character owned by JoyMax and JoyMax did not give me permission to pay for something on THEIR character.

Say i was going to sell/buy some gold. I find a buyer, but wait, isn't this selling or buying something that also belongs to JoyMax? Did JoyMax say i could sell their property online to another player?

* JoyMax could easily have those Gold Sites and Bot Sites taken off the internet... why don't they do it...?

Because such things are hard to prove in court. The guy ( Gold seller ) could as well say that he's selling THE TIME he spent getting the gold and not the gold itself ;).

As for selling a bot. Court won't care about what the software do. They'll just see it as another software that some guy is selling like photoshop, unless it's breaking copyrights they can't really stop it.

intangible items are not something u can sue for.

and u can easily find a loop hole like this one:

"Ill sell u a funny joke for 100$ and give u 200mil for free"

and jagex wasnt able to do that a lot of sites still sell runescape things. but the threat of being sued might be enuff to make one take it down.

Second Life is the only MMORPG out there (I think) that the users have copyright on the stuff they make in game.

That's easily solved by saying you don't actually buy a pet or buy silk, you buy a license to USE the pet or the silk.

Just like in other software. You don't buy Windows XP or Trillian Pro, you buy a license granting you permission to use the software. If you abuse it, it can be taken away.

As MU Online went commercial, Mobius and Webzen is serious in cracking down hackers that provides hack programs on the net and operators of private servers of MU Online or illegal copies of the game. Last November the supposed launch of MU Online was postponed due to these reasons. Inside source said, they were able to successfully jailed one hacker named craba from Cagayan de Oro City. The said hacker is the creator of the website http://www.mobiushacks.tk which is the number one provider of hack programs for Mu Online in the Philippines, Guam and Saipan. Both Mobius and Webzen filed charges against him but the charges filed was undisclosed.

if webzen can why not joymax?
webzen was also able to get court orders to close down internet cafes that let ppl use hacks, run private servers etc etc..
