Lucky only affects alchemy.

sorry this is a n00b mistake

Lucky is an alchemy effect, it CAN replace Lucky Powders when using elixirs on items but it usual is used with lucky powders to double the chance of success, note it does not always work but at higher levels people invest a lot of gold into buying lucky stones

ps lucky only effects the item it is on and wont help any others
