let`s hope Joymax actually learn a thing from this team.

i do believe this wont stop bots but it is a nice project.

yeah but this sure will show everyone how Joymax is as they stated

Basically we are to prove how Joymax is just standing on the side doing nothing to prevent bot which could of been detected 1 year ago.
Since isrobot exist for more then 1 year now and we all know that 95% of the top player are using isrobot, now, it's to prove it.

i don`t mind if they get banned or not, it sure will change my view on joymax as a company that is all, i did have faith in Joymax and i do support them but if these guys claim it is that easy as they say then i can`t imagine the damage it will cause to Joymax.

possibly a real bot detector but with hidden trojan inside? not that hard for someone who is able to program a bot detector, unless the source code of this bot detector is seen there is no way to determine its legitimacy, and guess what? im almost 99% sure that they wont release the source code of this "bot detector".

they wont release anything they just will provide the info in their ladder system.
i do believe they can do this if they can detect people gears why can`t they detect other packets?
only thing i wont hope is that they are now working on the same "project" as joymax (morningdew) was talking about.

We will release an application that act like a bot but that you put on a separated account on a level 1 player that you leave in hotan town and it will detect all players using isrobot.

they might just need couple guys to use it to collect this information as you have read they can use it on lvl 1 accounts so they might just use a stall.

i totally don`t see the point of them for abusing this system and add a keylogger or anything else like you have said they never wanted it before and i do believe nymble has more skill to obtain user information instead of abusing a program and key log people.

im guessing that you dont have to download the program. Eather way it will be concidered a trojan by most security software as it has to transmit information one way or another to their servers for them to collect the data.

IMO. this is the best step forward ive seen in the community so far. The ramifications that would result if the project is a success for joymax would also push them to get off their collective ass's and help stomp out the botting wildfire.

i personally wont be downloading the program but will keep a very close eye on this because it has a shitload of potential.

p.s look at the 2nd thread and watch all the botters collectivley crap themselves more than singapore does in a year XD - GOLD!

Yeah i agree with Cnplus, but you know Joymax wont do anything, if they wanted to ban botters they would've atleasted checked takalama, karokaom atleast once a day

Well the way I see it..the donor that baught out rev6 is joymax..coz they have been "looking for bot detectors" and when rev6 was able to collect the info by scanning other players around the bot to create the ladder, it caught joymax's attention....who else would buy out (donate!) such a big amount (and probably assured to keep donating) for anti bot other than joymax.? there are so many bots and names of bots submitted to them that they need a sure way to detect them ..not by knocking on everyones door and asking (pm ing) if they are using bots or not

Anyways..interesting if they (rev6) can do this without gathering too much personal info of the chars around..may be it will better for all of us

i don`t have a doubt in what they can or can`t but more into what joymax will do with this information.
i do believe they said joymax is not this secret donor , that makes it even more interesting.
i personally would donate both sides just to check what joymax will do seems like they (joymax) don`t want to learn from their mistakes after all.

they could jus copy WoW's design and just have a program that scans your entire computer b4 gameplay

truth: joymax prolly likes bots, keeps players "active", increases silk purchase and revnue going towards there games

im not saying botting is a good thing or a bad thing

but joymax f'd up. the reasono so many bot is because levling gets impossible, play any other rpg and getting to the max level does not take half as long as this. but owell jus commenting

HTML isn't C or VB. They have totally different syntax and purpose. I know plenty of programmers that don't get html.

9.99 times out of 10 they are bot party invites. All I have to do is look at who is sending invites and who I know bots and the same names come up all the time.

And yet WoW still has bots. What is good for WoW is not good for SRO. Basically WoW is pay to play. You get caught botting and you are gonna need a different credit card to create a new acct etc. So bans are a much bigger problem. Where on SRO if you get blocked all you need is a new email address and you can start botting again. Notice it is alot easier to create new accts on SRO. So the WoW model would not be reallly applicable here.

Its debatable. The rampant botting is turning away many existing and future players. Players that could also buy silk. So in terms of income will JM make more by allowing the botters to stay or by getting rid of them. Logic dictates that if they were to block all botters suddenly it would have a very negative short term impact on incoming revenue. But that if bot numbers were kept in check many new possibly silk buying customers would start playing. Ultimatly I think it most likely that they will continually ban small groups to ween them off the bot income and build up legitimate customer base.

All I gotta say is that if you like all those other RPG go play them. Just because they are easy and this one is not gives no one the right to bot. If it is not worth someones time to play it right don't play at all. And leave it to those of us that can.
