"then that message pops up with other stuff"...
"then it says please load silkroad exe client or sumthin"...

I'm sorry, but if you want decent responses, you'll need to give decent information.

Tell us exactly what each error message is saying. Take a screenshot if there's too much to write all out. Also important is your system specs.

My vague guess based on the thread title is that your RAM sticks may be old and failing. But who knows? Memory issues are complicated issues... this could be absolutely anything.

Basically what this error message is telling you is that the program tried to access some information stored in the system memory, but it couldn't read it.

Now, RAM sticks are notoriously difficult to detect faults with. What I would suggest is that you try going here and downloading Memtest86.

The instructions are a little complex. If you need guidance, the easiest method is to do the following:

1. Download this file: http://www.memtest86.com/memt32.zip
2. Extract the files into a folder. The name of it doesn't matter. Just have all the files there in the same place.
3. Doubleclick Install, and have a floppydisk ready in the drive.
4. Hopefully everything should go fine, and when this is done the floppy disk will no longer be readable by Windows. This is normal.
5. Reboot the system fully and have the floppy disk in the drive when you do so. The RAM testing should automatically begin. Press Escape at any time to exit the test and have the computer reboot.

Note that this is a TEST, and does not fix anything. Errors reported by this test should be noted for future reference.

You may also wish to defragment your harddrive. This can be done by rightclicking the drive in your My Computer folder, selecting Properties, going to the Tools tab, and starting from there.

Hmm, usually I'd think computer owners would know where their own CD/floppy drives are, but... I guess not everybody does. :)

No problem. You can also download this: http://www.memtest86.com/memtest86-3.2.iso.zip

Unzip the ISO file, and burn it to a CD with whatever CD burning software you use. This CD then becomes a bootable CD which works exactly the same as I described with the floppy.

Just out of curiosity- are you using your own computer, or somebody else's?

to answer your curious question im using mine and il describe to you the best i can whats on the front of the tower

first - dvd writer/light scribe
2nd - reg cd rom drive
then there are 4 diff slots for 4 diff kinds of memory sticks and a usb slot
then theres a compartment to open with 2 more usb slots head phone microphone and the 3rd hole to plug in stuff and another usb slot that says 1394 or sumthin
then finally the power button below that

so will this download help me run the game?
or will it test out and see if theres something wrong with m y ram as you mentioned?

It won't help directly. But it will hunt down any existing faults with your RAM and report them to you. This'll help us get to the bottom of the problem quicker. :)

First, did you run the memory check?

And I don't really know what you mean about the rest, so I can't help there without specific info.

:/ I don't mean to offend by this, but perhaps you should allow a more experienced computer user to read this thread and perform the memtest for you. It would speed up the process of helping you greatly if I don't need to first teach you how to download and open files. :)
