What is darkness ?

what is darkness ? i get it all the time when i attack "Gun Power"

its a effect like burn/frost/poison etc. you cant pill it off like the others and there are a few things on what it does..like making pots less effective or lowering parry, no one really knows...yet

i would turn-on pills when doing gun powder quests cuz it waste pills when you leave it on and pills doesnt cure it

Darkness lowers attack rating afaik (saw it somewhere...or maybe not)
